Just got home from work in time to catch the latter half of Inside Man (2006), a Spike Lee Joint starring Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, Jodie Foster and Willem Dafoe, among others.

I've seen this film many times, but somehow it still manages to entertain me although I pretty much know it by heart at this point. A well directed and acted bank robbery film with a twist.

Recommended if heist-films are of interest.

Great movie to me. Hate the direction btw and still
Love it. O
Except for the biggest plot hole in movie history :)
Didn’t catch it. Can you post it in a spoiler tag for me?

Half jokingly (I think it was also mentioned in the Big Bang theory), Indy is completely useless. Not only he helps the nazi find the arc, whatever he does, he actually slows down the demise of the bad guys which is caused by the powers of the arc. Had he let them get the arc and do their ritual, they would’ve been dead anyways.

Oh yes of course! I was thinking you were talking about hereditary because that’s what I just posted. It’s even worse than that; I’m pretty sure they said they were going to open it in Berlin in front of Hitler! But I’m not 100% sure. To be “that guy” that’s not really a plot hole, though.

Ahahah I am pretty sure they said it, you’re right! Let’s say it’s a conceptual hole.
In reality, ROTLA is one of the best movies ever made, I don’t care for such “hole” which actually makes it more realistic as the main character doesn’t really understand what’s happening :)
(Certainly more realistic than the refrigerator scene in Indy 4)

this killer clown slasher movie can hang with pennywise. great movie. the only bad thing was the musical score which was all over the place and not creepy enough. i thought this was gonna be a low budget scary movie but no. there is a part where he hacksaws a girl in half, gore fest.

This kind of story just turns me off, especially with another evil clown. I’ve had my fill. :)

I need a movie to watch now! I’m bored. Nothing at red box, nothing on demand or Netflix. I’m dangerously close to spending time with my family.
Lol, or read a good book! How about Ex Machina?

I can’t read anymore. I tried to read a book about a month ago and just couldn’t concentrate. Ex machina was really good. I’m probably just gonna take a fistful of Tylenol PM and see what happens.

See above lol

Just because it was mentioned on the BBT does not make it a plot hole. ;) Indy understood what was happening. So I agree with @mac and cheese on this no plot hole.

The movie established how cut throat Belloc and Indiana are in finding these relics (see the beginning). Just proves that Indy isn’t perfect and gets blind-sided by his quests, so that is a fun flaw to exploit. Indy always comes through and Belloc and the nazis etc. always get theirs.

As for Indy slowing down the nazis demise, it is in the script. :p And more importantly, I love that Indiana was present to explain the wrath of God and averting your eyes to Marion (and the audience) when the wrath and angel of death etc. show themselves. It validated what the ark was and it was a great moment.

So Raiders is still perfect. ;):D

Yes, studying this movie in screenwriting class was my favorite part of that course.

Everybody know that Indy dug em young in the original script right? Marion was practically a child when they had their affair. In fact, the line “I was a child” or something like made it to the final film. Also, they totally cut the scene explaining why Indy knew to close his eyes but I actually like it better this way. He knew because he was smart not just because someone happened to tell him that just in time.

LOL True: re Marion. Never bothered me.

To know it was the wrath of God was short handed (“keep your eyes shut”), but that just proved -as you say- how smart Indiana was, and his respect of the relic.

I love that God showed up and basically said “Nah ah, you Nazis can’t have this and you’re toast.” :p

Ugh, BBT ...

Anyway :D

I've always disliked the use of the term "plot hole" in the context of what we're discussion, a hole has missing material, that's a movie plot where it goes from A to C without any hint as to who/what/where happened at B. This is just a specific plot point, that's easily explained with character motivation (and borderline obsession).

Even the [in]famous sub bit, it's not a hole, we saw Indy get to C from A, by way of a clearly shown B - now is the B maybe a strain on your SOD? Meh, given the film's world, nah, in fact, there was even a scene partially filmed that actually showed how B went down.

I remember reading the book based on the movie and the author made a point to write that Indy lashed himself to the sub with his whip and the sub never went under.

Hereditary. Very good acting and a stellar cast, less of a mind-f**k that I expected, but still good stuff.

Is it just me, or has it been a pretty disappointing year for new movies?

The summer wasn’t great. I usually get excited for a lot of big blockbusters but there was only like 2 great action films this year.

Less??? Lol. That movie freaked me out.

Just finished watching "Chef" and I must say it was a really good movie. Great story, (carefully researched to get the kitchen vibe, language and behaviour down to a T) and great actors! Having worked in the industry for many years it was a nice look at the people that got everything right. Well worth watching if you haven't seen it. John Favreau did an awesome job on this one!

Just finished up watching "Isle Of Dogs" by Wes Anderson. What a great movie! A very creative and imaginative movie that was thoroughly entertaining. It had a great voice cast of notable actors, too. I recommend this one highly. It's a great family movie.
