Eagerly added to my list! Lovin’ the 80s theme. Cheers for mentioning them!
I have a few more I'll post in the next few days as I pick them up and put them in the BD player.Eagerly added to my list! Lovin’ the 80s theme. Cheers for mentioning them!
Please tell me you watched the Boys.Yeah, really want to see this - I've read quite a few comics with the same sort of concept, from Gaiman, Alan Moore, etc., the idea that with great power, comes great douchebaggery![]()
Please tell me you watched the Boys.
Transit (2018): Christian Petzold's adaptation and direction of Anna Seghers' 1944 novel, which had been set in the France of 1942 and was based on her own experiences as a political refugee from a German concentration camp landing in Vichy-run Paris and trying to get to Mexico. But Petzold updates the timeframe without making that explicit, so it rocks us back on our heels immediately to see props from a much later time; the fact that the arc of the film is then limned by the voiceover and viewpoints of an unreliable narrator only adds aspects of realistic confusion. But we do get it inside of a few minutes that "Papers, please!" is the main threat here and the primary driver of a riveting tale of flight to Marseilles and beyond as the occupation continues to close doors. A tale at once from the past and more broadly of our own times as well. Franz Rogowski as Georg is beyond excellent in a taxing, multifaceted role. In German and French, with English subtitles. I found it on iTunes.
Rewatching Mission Impossible: Fallout since it's free with Prime.
That fist fight near the beginning is phenomenal.

Your description reminds me of an alternate reality movie like Moulin Rouge.Transit (2018): Christian Petzold's adaptation and direction of Anna Seghers' 1944 novel, which had been set in the France of 1942 and was based on her own experiences as a political refugee from a German concentration camp landing in Vichy-run Paris and trying to get to Mexico. Rewatched the original on September 27 2017 according to my film journal. I watched the remake the next night, also according to my film journal. God the new one was utter ****.
I never saw the new one. From the previews it looked bad and so I didn't want to waste my time and potentially be disappointed.Rewatched the original on September 27 2017 according to my film journal. Don't. You'd be better off watching it with 2/3 a bottle of Scotch in you. It makes more sense the more drunk you are. If a recession does come along, I foresee a lot of remakes because it's cheaper to do. Sigh.I never saw the new one. Watching the last 15 minutes of Quantum of Solace. Does that count? No one has watched a movie since Tuesday? What's wrong with you people?
I'll get the ball rolling again..
