Just started watching a film called final score. Set at Upton Park in a fictional terrorist incident in our last ever match against a European side. I miss that place!

Hahaha, this sounds like a good forum game :D

There were two sort of descriptions, one was the plot outline (but very vague), and the second was what I posted above, kind of the "What kind of genre elements are present". The plot description I'm sure you'd get in a heartbeat (certainly if I listed the stars) :)

How about this ...

"Abbot and Costello" :D

You know what, this is not a fun forum game at all :D I'm seriously drawing a blank, mainly because the only things related to A&C that come to mind is either that they go to Mars (which they actually don't even do if memory serves), and that they meet the invisible man. Both of those are obviously represented plenty of times in sci-fi, but but but...

Is this what failure feels like..? I don't care for it.

Hahaha, no worries, the movie I was suggesting (on that discussion on another forum) was Arrival (very highly recommended), I think it's pretty "family friendly" even if it has some intense moments (it's not "scary" per se).

If you've seen it, the A&C comment will totally makes sense, if not, go watch it, right now :D

To make matters worse, I actually have seen it once, but for some reason have already totally forgotten about the A&C-connection (which I don't want to google)! Guess a refresher is in order. I do remember liking it, though.

I enjoyed Arrival - good movie 👍

- it kinda reminded me of "The Last Mimzy" great PG sci-fi - similar story line - I actually liked "The Last Mimzy" even more - mostly because it was my sons favorite back then - so we watched over and over and over - lol

The Go-Between from 1971 based on the L. P. Hartley with Julie Christie, Alan Bates, Michael Redgrave. I can't recall having seen this before even though I'll basically watch any movie or series set in the UK countryside with magnificent estates. I especially enjoy the period of Christie's work between 1965-75. The last thing I watched Alan Bates in was Oliver's Travels.

Mortal Engines. I read the first book, it was decent, just watched this yesterday. It was okay, some excitement, but just okay. If post-apocalyptic teen angst movies are your thing, this fits.

Any Tom Hardy fans here? Anyone? Anyone?😁

Well I’m a huge fan of Tom Hardy, especially his role in Inception and Lawless.

This whole movie actually takes place in a car (I know, I know, sounds strange, but it works). I really can’t say much, but it goes to show you how our daily decisions can affect our entire life in any scenario. The question is, can you accept the outcomes and consequences for your decisions?

Watch this one, it’s good.

Oh.. And the musical score is excellent {Composed by Dickon Hinchliffe}. Another one that I’ve added to my library to Apple Music. Actually, the musical score was only able to U.K initially, and it was finally released worldwide about three years ago.

I have not watched it yet, but judging by the comments made by Tom Hanks - he seems to indicate a disappointment in how apple has handled the release and perhaps it was originally intended to be longer?

Perhaps it did include much more footage? when it was in production? This is a constant trade off in producing a film and balancing the length of the film with the (estimated) attention span of the audience?
Apple is simply the distributor. They didn't produce it. The movie is exactly as was shot and edited by the original movie makers. Hanks is just pissed-off because that company sold it to Apple, thereby robbing him of box-office take, and the "theatre experience," etc.

I like Tom Hardy, Inception, Mad Max Fury Road, Taboo. although Taboo did not click for me, a bit too dark and dissatisfying.
