Match Point (2005)
View attachment 1872530
One to watch; slow burn, dark drama, seductive, thriller with a deep romantic entanglement. In short one to watch...

The two components to this movie is lust and greed.

When you look at Jonathan Rhys Meyers character, enough is never enough, which takes obsession to a point of no return.

I’ve watched this movie at least three or four times.

I do have to say, Scar-Jo in her day, might’ve made pretty much any guy go crazy. She’s very hypnotic in this movie, and the director wasn’t shy about it.

Match Point is deliberate from the very onset, yet so very well done. There's a lot more to the film beyond the basics, to expand would only spoil. Match Point is by far best watched with zero knowledge or preconceptions, then you can decide for yourself, bringing question's to the viewer.

Absolutely for fans of practical effects, gruesome & gory it is. What you take from film is very much down to you. First scene starts hard and only escalates...

Watched on your recommendation. Not bad at all. And the Illuminati references make it an ominous sort of red pill, before red pilling was even a thing ... And yes, the practical effects; I learned they were crowd sourced, go fund me. The megalomaniacal father: spot on for the master of creepsville. What he did to his daughter (in the name of love) was kinda reminiscent of what the robot David did to the object of his affections, Daniels, in Alien Covenant. Look at the results of what what men do when they try and conceive children ... 😱🤢🤮

Because in the era of Social Media Rage, everyone loves to be offended.
Very true :( If all are too scared to say as it is, we end up with beyond mediocre content. Films previously hit hard points with harsh words, equally it was clear the intention never to insult or injure rather to depict the time of the day. I've said before films go nowhere as the producers are too scared to go anywhere...

Kingdom of Heaven (2005)

Please watch the Director's Cut, avoid the theatrical release at all costs. Gladiator (2000) made a big impact, Kingdom of Heaven as intended by the director far more so.
A long watch, equally one you should view being a sophisticated, semi historical & poignant epic...

Yeah call me a cretin but I love this film.

I really want to see this one.

Back to my earlier post about The Bride of Frankenstein.

Have any of you seen this one? I won't spoil it too much but it starts off with Mary Shelley, Lord Byron, and Percy Shelley sitting around in some lavish manor home talking about her original novel, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus . She goes onto to tell the men that there is more to the story... pretty cool.

Let me add, the sets on this film are simply amazing. If you haven't seen it, you must!

The graveyard/catacombs scene... wow.

Just watched the first two James Bond movie, Dr No and From Russia with Love. What a surprise. Despite the age and the quips (James Bond is truly a master of quips), I actually quite enjoyed both movies, and I felt Bond was more of an actual spy. The modern Bond is more focused on action and less on the spy stuff. Great stuff. I didn't realize I would enjoy these classic Bond movies (my first introduction to Bond was Pierce Brosnan).

Totally get it. When it starts getting colder around these parts, we have a yearly 'Bond Marathon!'. Some kinda suck, and yeah some are practically the same, but they are all classic 'comfort flicks'.
