I love this film. Sugar is the scariest villain ever!

have you read the novel? The film follows the novel almost to a "T".
👍 Isn't he just?!

Indeed I have read the novel and they really did it justice.

I am a great admirer of Cormac McCarthy's novels.
He evokes the stark and desolate landscapes of the American West and its people incredibly well.

Best of Enemies (2019)- 👍This is based on a true story of the integration of the public school system in Durham, N.Carolina, 1971. I thought it was excellent. Critics hated it, they thought it was not “lively” enough. The title is a spoiler…😑

Cleopatra (1963)

An ambitious watch being the 50th anniversary release with a restored runtime of over four hours! Cleopatra is potentially the most expensive film ever produced. One that near bankrupted 20th Century Fox back in the day.

The film is famous for it's sumptuous presentation, solid & charismatic performance's, a tale of love and tragedy. Infamous for off screen events; massive budget overruns, abandoning entire locations, changing lead actors, scandal between lead actors, director & executives replaced and so it goes on. The making of Cleopatra in many respects is far more entertaining than many modern releases.

A film you'll want to plan time to watch, as the film slowly unwinds. For some it will captivate, others the pace and runtime will be a turnoff.

I did try to watch Cleopatra recently.

Elizabeth Taylor and Rex Harrison hated each other. This enmity was so bad that it showed in the scenes they were both in. The director should have stepped in and fired either, or both, of them, they were so unprofessional. Sadly, I had to give up watching it because of that.

Inversely I think that adds to the performance as Cleopatra did not want to be ruled by Rome in any shape or form. TBH it was a really messed up production and amazing ever came to the big screen.

I wasn’t to impressed with the Super Mario Bros movie . Just it’s the same thing but on the big screen haha. Probably I’d give it kudos for being much better than the original.

Mission Impossible : Dead Reckoning Part 1 (2023)

wow! What a great action movie, and with an actual interesting plot! Insane stunts by Tom Cruise. Action packed, and good acting. I am also impressed that the Italians in the movie (lots of it shot in Rome and Venice) are actual Italians 😂 although Tom Cruise speaking Italian is a bit… goofy. However, great movie. Watch it at the theater.

It's on my check-up list together with the other MI movies. Didn’t know much about Ferguson before Silo. She and Cruise are really good together.

Just watched this and I have to be honest, it was boring, dull and tenacious to the franchise. It was too much tried too hard and ended up being a mess I think. I laughed at a couple of lines, but the Guardians came across really weak against their foe compared to the previous films, where they took on a literal God in the last one! But now they get shot by blasters and die nearly?
it’s a film searching for a reason to exist and a story worth telling, and ultimately IMO fails on all counts. And good ol Disney won’t let it die with Pratt promised to make a return at least. Marvell for me has lost its spark long ago. Only Sipderman keeps me interested now and they don’t make that.

In honor of director William Friedkin, who died today, I present a frame from The Exorcist, when Father Damien Karras has killed himself by jumping out the window and falling down a dark flight of stairs, and a photo of me posing dead at the bottom of the same stairs where the scene was filmed.

Friedkin was a great director for an amazing variety of films.
