Oppenheimer was incredible. Filmmaking at the highest level. Many themes intertwined into a story. Like a thick book.
Dumb and Dumber (1994)- Possibly one of the greatest modern slapstick movies made.
The scene with the cork always... always cracks me up!!!!
Agreed on all fronts. The only ones I somewhat found decent are The Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella. And even those were somewhat underwhelming. The Lion King should’ve never, ever been made.I have kids so we watched the little mermaid remake.. it was good to watch and kids liked it enough but i was not impressed mainly due to the music as the songs weren’t as fun.
I’ve not been a fan of any of the live action remakes. I think I would prefer they reanimate them to a modern standard and use the original audio.
my kids preferred the original songs as well.
Maybe it's the CGI. In the old days things were either animated or live action. Now they can meld the two together so they're just going over our childhood cartoons.Agreed on all fronts. And now let’s brace for the new Snow White which seems to be headed to a serious crash and burn.

The only way to make any of these live-action remakes is if they do something different than the animated original, which for the most part (minus malificient i guess) they aren't doing.Agreed on all fronts. I enjoyed the Jungle book but perhaps because I wasn't that emotionally tied to the original cartoon. The only way to make any of these live-action remakes is if they do something different than the animated original, which for the most part (minus malificient i guess) they aren't doing.
i saw the jungle book remake and i personally thought it was decent but still really missed the liveliness of the animated versions. all the animated versions of these movies take advantage of the medium to evoke an emotional response in the viewer. in contrast the live action remakes just come off as soulless corporate products designed by a committee which is all disney is now. a terrible way the industry is headed
It is nonsensical changes like this that make me avoid “remakes.”I was annoyed on the Little Mermaid how they changed the lyrics to kiss the girl to include consent.. never have I ever heard of anyone being offended by that song or that its condones forcing yourself onto someone.. its just an innocent song in my mind
thats sensible! I always put that on for background viewing as a bit of a confort blanket as it reminds me of being younger!Rewatching Friends
I’d rank Lloyd’s dream as No.1 followed second by Dante’s I dare ya.The scene with the cork always... always cracks me up!!!!

Watched Ghosted on Apple+ this evening. I think that's the first time I've seen an AirTag used as a plot device.
It’s actually pretty good for what it is. Not a brainy movie in any way whatsoever, but it’s a self aware movie with lots of fun and likable characters.Think I’ll rent Dungeons and Dragons later on today. Now it’s at a reasonable price. I’ve heard mostly alright things about it.
Nothing too heavy here either but it is rather fun:
