I would advise anyone to totally ignore this list, as they could announce anything next week. Remember Koh and Gurman, the two analysts this site holds with God like mythical status of predictions, last week claimed NO new Macs and NO more Apple events in 2023. Apple is keeping secrets locked down these days.

So we CAN expect a new iphone Mini!!! That is great!!

iphone mini 13, ipad mini 6 and a mini cooper 2021

Sounds like a touchscreen Mac. (that doubles as an iPad. what is the difference?)

Maybe the redesigned hinge means we're getting a touchscreen Surface/G4 iMac.

Yeah, right. :p

Are people really not satisfied with their M1/M2 Pro and Max MacBook Pro's to warrant upgrading to one of these? Don't get me wrong here, I coming from the perspective of market saturation. I am looking this from the perspective that most power users who needed a MacBook Pro likely upgraded in the past two years. Yes, there will be M1 and M2 Pro/Max users who will upgrade no matter what. But how many will?
I'm fabulously satisfied with my M1 Pro 16" MBP, and have zero intentions of upgrading anytime soon.

However:

1. I am super curious to see what the M3 chip brings, and what Macs Apple puts out next.

2. My son is still rocking a MBA from ~2014, and there's a thought in my head to maybe get him a 13" M3 MBA for his birthday next year. Especially with Bali tickets already booked for next Aug. Having the extra battery life + better screen etc would be handy on the flight and when chilling out between surfs and touristy stuff. I'm also curious about how much better it might perform for gaming, since my son is into gaming a bit, and since Apple seems to be focusing on it.

How about yourself?

3. Also Enjoy the flexibility of charging via USB-C rather than frantically trying to find a power outlet Or having to power up the car for the sole purpose of charging MacBook.

I don’t see myself upgrading to another MacBook until 2027. I might take a detour and get either 32 inch iMac or Mac Studio when we get to M5 in 2025. But for now I am super happy with what my 2020 M1 13 inch MacBook Pro does. Just as fast as the day I got it in December 2020. My Early 2015 MacBook Pro sits right beside it and works just as well.

Not expecting to see new MacBook Air. With 15" Air launching recently, an update will happen only in 2024

I am wondering about the status of the hybrid touchscreen Mac that doubles as an iPad.
There is zero evidence this will happen anytime soon. macOS and iPadOS are their own separate things. Both making lots of revenue for Apple.

Why such a long article
It was easier to say NOPE to everything besides 24" iMac, 14" and 16" Mbo because otherwise from the article some people can expect an Apple Car, an Apple Plane, an Apple wallet, An Apple ring etc

Quite a move to shift from a 13" MBP to a 32" iMac or to a Mac Studio!?

A 40 minute event for two new Macs is kinda wild, either the Apple Shamans are wrong or there’s gonna be tons to talk about
You are forgetting about Tim Cook’s fluff that he includes with these events. They take up about 30 minutes of airtime.

Hilarious that we are using Mark German as a source on what won’t appear at this event considering he predicted no October event at all and that there would be no new Macs this year. Funny how things change!
Even better, read this…..

”In the latest edition of Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, he reports that Apple is not planning a significant update for AirPods Max. In fact, it is currently set to be so minor that the generation number won’t even change. Gurman does hedge that Apple’s plans could ‘possibly’ change”

He’s giving himself room both ways now. No, we’re not going to get anything significant updated or it could change. So I’m not gonna believe this guy ever again. it’s just guessing now and anybody can do that.

I remember back in the day when MacRumors did actual digging and journalism, now it’s just an RSS feed for two dudes that are right 50% of the time. You might as well have named the article “Here’s what these knuckleheads think is gonna happen after being proven wrong like a week ago”
You know what they said: "Complacency is the first sign of one's downfall."

I've been here for like 20 years, and MR has always been mostly an aggregator of rumors. I don't know what you mean by "actual digging and journalism".

And, if anything, I find this current era where the rumors about the iPad (turns out it's just a pencil, and a minor upgrade in China only) and now the Mac (none coming! All coming! No iMac! Only the iMac!) are completely contradictory pretty fun. Whereas, the iPhone has gotten very boring. Not just because this year saw the seventeenth release of it, so what can I possibly expect?, but also because so much of it gets leaked in advance. At least the software side leaks a lot less, because it largely doesn't rely on a supply chain. For example, the Dynamic Island was a complete surprise last year!
