Many great ideas already posted but to pull recipes/shopping lists from yummy soup would be clever.
I'm in on the ebook reader and camera connection. A scientific calc would be a great value.

Wow. The ebook reader is one of the most wanted apps! It seems that mr. Jobs was wrong when he said that nobody reads anymore ;)

-Adobe Acrobat Reader (with search built in)
-Skype (and an optional VoIP microphone available from apple or others)
-Yahoo Messenger (yes, I know meebo works for now, but it could be better)
-gpSPhone (GBA Emulator, already done)
-iPhysics (awesome game, already done)
-Finder (like MobileFinder but made by apple themselves)

Something like Chapura Pocket Mirror for the Palm. I want to sync everything from Outlook between work and home machines.

Adobe Acrobat

Some kind of VNC/Xterm/SSH like Putty

Some kind of password vault program. I have been using Yaps on the palm for 6 years. One password into encrypted storage of all my info.

Just got my 1.1.2 machine today and have not jailbroke it yet. I do understand that some of this does exist.

I wish to see a new weather application that looks with animated graphics and one that helps pull data to be view on the homescreen. Example the icon will change reflecting the type of weather, sunny, rain, snow, windy, etc and below it will show the temperature as well. Also this proably be just for apple, but do something like the Zune card, I tested out the software to see what it is like and really like the idea of showing the type of music you listen to and what others listen to as well.

you know what they wont have but SHOULD make?

an app that makes iTouch/iPhone into a Wii-mote for the Nintendo Wii.

At the rate the Wii has been selling at, Apple will hit it huuuge if they can strike up that deal.

I mean, hey, its already got an accelerometer or whatever its called inside it already.

Skype would be big, keeping in mind that you would need some way to input your own voice into the phone? How?
Chat/SMS application, duh.
Flash support, maybe through a whole new browser?
Mini Office Suite, so you can edit DOC, PPT, XLS
Adobe reader

Along with this, apple should beautify the calendar function, letting it have the colors that it does in Macs, and more importantly let you store files and retrieve them simply, perhaps thorough another app.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)

flash, some kind of drawing app, iChat, a vnc/desktop sharing client, an update to safari where when playing streaming media it is still possible to browse on a separate page, all that I can think of now.

AudioSurf, it kind of blends Wipeout, Tetris, and Guitar Hero into one sexy beast meant for the iPhone/iPod touch

Google it.

(Icon made by me for no reason what so ever except to day dream about an iPod touch port of the game)

1. peer-to-peer wifi file transfers
2. pdf reader
3. graphing scientific calculator

in that order.

Is this SDK available to all users, meaning, I can use SDK to develop my own apps or this is avaialable only to software companies ?

Companies, I think... although Indie development is where it's at! I have more indie software on my Mac than mainstream.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Skype for iPod Touch as well as a complimentary microphone xD

And maybe a screen sharing app for connecting to my iMac from wherever I may be?

• PDF Viewer
• To do list
• RSS viewer
• Converter
• Dictionary
• And some good games :)

iChat, Streaming Internet Radio, Ability to add more Wallpapers, a really good VNC client and IRC Client.

iPod App Store

iPod App Store - Best idea ever.

You would go on iTunes Store and click on a link that would take you to the iPod App Store. The apps would work on iPhone also of coarse.

Apps could cost anywhere from 99 cents to 5 dollars. It would be perfect!

Oh yeah and a Radio. I was reading the warranty booklet and it said that iPod touch had a built in fm radio transmitter and receiver. So where the HELL is the radio??!!

1: A good PDF reader. I want something that'll allow me to read PDF ebooks, so even "Mobile Preview" would be a good start.

2: A video player that'll handle video file formats other than MP4s. A VLC port would be perfect.
