I would've gotten a cheap phone rather than buying a Focus S full price. Then you could save up the money and get a 4S or something else better.

Again, I LOVE Windows Phone, it was something different, the keyboards great, the camera was great on the Focus S, and Its really smooth, I Still love this phone, its just missing the small features I Want/Need. Either Way, Whats your Opinion on a iP4 with iOS 6, People say its slow? If I Got an iPhone it would have to be the 4 as I Would want the nice screen and camera, and I Simply cant get a 4S.

It's possible he did an ESN swap which doesn't reset the contract, although he didn't allude to that. EDIT: Just kidding, he said he isn't up for a new contract but an ESN swap was possible.

Well if they're still selling the 3GS, then they'll still sell the 4, too. Not seeing your point there.

All that's proven by the Nexus S still being able to run the full OS (sans Face Unlock so it's not the full blown OS really) is that AOSP isn't very hardware intensive.

The iPhone 4 is missing quite a few big features of iOS 6. Navigation being a big one as well as face time over 3g. The only reason the nexus s has fave unlock disabled is because the front facing camera is only VGA resolution like the iPhone. The galaxy nexus has an HD front facing camera which is necessary to accurately identify a face. You can actually enable face unlock on the nexus s but I don't know how accurate it will be. The restrictions on iOS 6 for the 4 are not because of hardware.

I'd wait for (all coming this fall)

Galaxy Nexus 2

Galaxy Note 2

iPhone 5

your pick.

It's not a bad choice. I don't have a 4 but I've read performance is better than iOS 5. The 3 things you don't get from the update are FaceTime over cellular, 3D maps, and the turn-by-turn. The 4S will probably get a price drop this fall, too.

Blame Apple for making an inferior product.

How can I blame them? I like my 4S. It works well for me so I can't complain.

Well That was another feature I Did forget to mention, The Turn By Turn GPS.. Facetime and 3D Maps can be enabled through jailbreak. Not sure about turn by turn though.

Apple makes great hardware, but their business choices/tactics as well as their non-innovative iOS software is irking many folks in the tech world.

But let's be serious here.

Tech world is irrelevant to the layman.

He said he wanted a good camera, that takes the Nexus out right there, awful camera. S3 is $199 and has the best camera I have ever seen on a phone, edging out the 4s camera.
The Nexus's camera is not awful. Performance of it has increased in every update especially in jellybean and 4.04. Its also one the few phones that can record 1080p HD without dropping frames because the ti omap has a dedicated media encoder/decoder chip. The issues I had with the camera when it first came out was low light performance. That's been fixed since then and with good lighting it takes excellent pictures.

Either way pretty much every android phone in the past 3 years has had google maps navigation out of the box.

Hey, I'm really interested in the Nexus S, I Had an HTC Inspire 4G, but the camera, screen, and performance kinda sucked, performance was something that was fixed with different roms but how does the Nexus S Compare?? I'd be interested to see when it will get jellybean, also, is it HSPA+? Both my Inspire 4G and Focus S are and my area has extremely great HSPA+ coverage on AT&T (9mbps Down, 1.25 up!)

Yes, Apple makes good products that work well with simpletons, but it is patently obvious that it is not the solution for the more advanced user. Hence why people are recommending Android and hence why Apple should be blamed for making an inferior product for advanced users.

You'll have to get the galaxy nexus for hspa+. Good things is that it supports 21mbps vs 14 for the 4s.

Dang. I Could Try to fork it out, but I'd have to see. I Have a couple Xbox's I Could get rid of. Heh. No Other Android Phones with HSPA+ For around the $250 area I Dont Mind unoffical Ports of Jellybean, I Installed ICS on my Inspire 4G and it was a great experience on it, someone ported it over.. Dang.

Yeah. I wasn't sure if you were into jailbreak so I didn't mention it.

Nexus S camera is subpar (5 megapixels). It does not have 720p or 1080p video. The 4 has 720p.

How many albums did the Backstreet Boys sell again?

130 million. Doesn't matter, though, because Apple has sold over 200 million iPhones all together.

I would consider myself to be pretty advanced, I just find all the features Android offers to be extraneous things that aren't really necessary or appealing to me. I get along perfect without the features Android offers.

The galaxy s2 has HSPA+ but that's not any cheaper. There's probably a bunch of HTC phones as well but I can never remember the names of them. I think its worth spending a little more for the galaxy nexus.

Thanks for the replies, Alright, So I'm a pretty technical guy, I Like control of my stuff, But I Did love my iPhone, the only thing really holding me back on it though, is again the iPhone 4 will be the only One I Would and could get, But with the 5 (or whatever its going to be) coming out this year, Its going to be 2 generations old, and its going to keep lacking more and more features and get more and more sluggish, I think I Would regret getting it and being so dang outdated on it. What are your thoughts on that? I Dont mind jailbreak at all, but Adding all the missing features though jailbreak, Will it not slow it down? Those are the only reasons I am considering android.

The One S and/or the One V might have HSPA+. Don't know off the top of my head.

I'll try to put it in an equation you might understand. About 10X the total number of Android users (on ALL eligible devices) who are running Ice Cream Sandwich. Pretty sad isn't it? :D :D :D

Yeah If I Get an Android Phone Its going to be the Galaxy Nexus.. I Wouldnt go with HTC Because of the Super LCD's they use on them, I Dont like it. They are ehh.. I'm used to AMOLED+ on my Focus S, one other question I did have, with the buttons being virtual, if it happened to lock up from an App or Something, do those buttons lock up to or is there some way to exit the app or force quit or something, or do you HAVE to restart the phone?

I see where you're coming from. It's really up to you. If it was me, I would try to sell some things / save some more money to get the best possible device (imo the HTC One X, Galaxy S3, or iPhone 4S/5 would fit the bill for me).

Here's a YT video of the 3d maps on a jailbroken iPhone 4. Map speed doesn't look to be too terrible. The overall OS is still fast.

No, the soft keys work fine. They are on a different thread from apps. They are actually my favorite feature of the nexus. Its like having a 4.3 inch phone and then when your watching a full screen video you get the full 4.65 inch phone. Its the best of both world. They are also customizable too and they look sweet.
