No case for me!

I want my phone to be as slim and small as possible.

And amazingly, the plastic back doesn't scratch! (Nor the glass of course. The chrome does, a bit.)

If I DID have a case it would be rubber, for grip and drop protection. But what a pain getting it in and out of my pocket. (I do think Apple should add a rubber strip on the sides of the iPhone for grip. The front/back would remain slick for easy de-pocketating™.)

Ugrh to the rubber strip on an iPhone.

I really like how the iPhone looks without anything on it. But since I need some protection, I just got a full cover invisibleSHIELD and that's it. Nothing else.

Looks good. But I don't really like the invisibleSHIELD. It's starting to wear off after a while.

Tour going to scratch the back of your iPhone. Return the case.
Oh and I use a screen protector.

I just bought an Incase slider and love it... can you explain how it will scratch the back of the phone? There are 2 rubber rails on the inside... I can see if you kept pulling it in an out, but I'm leaving this thing is on here for good.

That's how you'll scratch it. If you don't take it off periodically to clean out the dust build-up (which WILL happen even after a day of use), sliding it off will scratch the back, as you're pulling pieces of dust and buildup all the way down you're phone.

I've got a Belkin leather pouch. It suits my needs great. I hate having a case on when I'm using it but it's nice to have some extra protection when I need it.

I'm using a screen protector and nothing else, but I still use a 1st Gen iPhone with the aluminum back which I guess is less prone to scratches compared to the 3G and 3G S. My girlfriend is using the Incase slider for her 3G S and a screen protector.

I'm a reformed case user.

I used to use an incase silicone case for my iPhone 2G, once I got the 3G, I just loved holding that sexy naked body in my hands...

So I've been going naked ever since with a Sena slim fit case for when its in my pocket.

My OtterBox Dedender case saved my iPhone from a bicycle accident. The phone is in perfect condition.

I've got an InCase Slider. Love it so far, I feel a lot more reassured when walking around outside with it rather than my naked 3GS. Still to "drop test" it, although I'm in no hurry on that front!

Have heard all the horror stories about it scratching or affecting reception, but I've not had any problems yet.

I'm more worried about my 2-y-o daughter picking up my phone and throwing it against a wall!

No screen protector - the oleophobic coating is one of my favourite features.

Currently rocking a bodyguardz back with steinheil protector, and a red iSkin solo. I use the case at work and when going on trips. Nekid when around the house and when running around town. The bodyguardz and iSkin solo are. Good combo.

I dont care about scratching it, i care about dropping and breaking the phone. The only thing that bugs me about the slider is how it lifts up screen protectors. I just bought one of those crystal clear SGP protectors only for it to be damaged within 2 minutes after install. So i had to do away with the Slider and slap on my Incipio Feather.

I decided not to buy a case for my iPhone 3GS. I do keep it in a 'Sena Pouch' when it's not in use however.

A few weeks after purchasing it, I managed to scratch the chrome bezel (the thin part that faces directly forwards, not the sloped outer section). It really bugged me for a few days, but I think I'm finally over it :)

In the end, I'm glad I decided not to keep it in a case. Once you're over the first stage of obsessiveness, then small scratches don't bother you so much.

None. Never had any protection for the original iPhone either....sure it has been dropped a few times but I never have had any cracks or major problems after

From incase slider with invisible shield front to invisible shield front and back only and I have a belt case.

The invisible shield was great but I wanted something more thin

and a dent, crack, scratch or chip from a drop on concrete ruins the phone

The iphone isn't nearly as delicate as you seem to think it is. I'm not saying you should use it as a hockey puck, but it really does hold up well without a case if you're careful with it.

The iphone was *designed* to function without a case. I've had mine without a case for over a year and it looks just fine.

Cases are a racket. They often charge you $20-$40 for what amounts to a small piece of silicone or plastic--which isn't even necessary.

running Zagg full body as "underwear" for my 3G with an Incipio Feather case. I've tried the iSkin revo2 but it kept emptying the contents of my pocket when I needed to answer a call.

I kept mine naked for a long time and loved the experience that way. However, got rid of my landline and suddenly my 4 year old is using it to talk to dad. Now mine's in an Otterbox. Feels like it could be thrown against a brick wall unscathed. Hated it at first but I'm beginning to like the hefty feel of it. It's definitely bulky, but I like not worrying about dropping it anymore.

Bought a silicone case and 3-pack screen protector from ebay (all for $2). they both fit the 3GS really well.

Highly recommended! I can try find the link if there is interest.

Power Support Crystal Film + modified otterbox defender case.
My phones take a real beating so I'm protecting this one.

Mind you, I often remove the case on the weekend, it's just at work when it's constantly getting dragged in and out of my pocket, gets chucked into the car etc.
