In store pick up 9/19 here. Sucks. I usually enjoy tracking its process. Not this year. Silver pro max 256gb. I have a feeling there was a glitch going on. I’d set up the phone multiple times for purchase stating 9/19 delivery and as soon as I added it to my bag and went to check out it went to 9/25 every time. So I chose in store just to be safe. Pretty sure a lot of 9/25 orders will be updated to 9/19.
Oh well. At least I get to take the day off of work. And I’ll get the phone at 830am vs 6pm 😂

I ordered within 3 minutes of the pre-order time for delivery (17 PM 512 GB Deep Blue) and received a shipping date of 9/25. I just went back online (1 hr 22 min after launch time) and can still preorder the same phone for pick up on 9/19. What Ive been reading is that most of the initial 9/25 delivery dates will change to launch day (assuming you were ordered for delivery within minutes of the order window).
According to the order info, if you do in store for IUP, you need to transfer data and leave your old phone for return. Not like you can just get the new phone and do it all at home like with home delivery. One reason definitely not doing in store. I want to have as much time as I need, and I usually like the advantage of keeping the old phone in case something messes up on the data download.

yes.. This happened in the JetBlack iPhone X year.. I got like October 10-17 at check out for preorder and it came about 4 days after launch.. These 9/25 ProMax (256, Orange/Blue) shipping dates WILL get updated.
It’s likely a glitch, no way they sold out that fast for 9/19 delivery within minutes after preorder opening. They will probably move up. I didn’t want to rely on that and since I already have the uw3 scheduled for pick up on the 20th I just did the same time for my phone. At least I don’t have to ship back my trade in and they can just take it upon pick up. I had a case before where the phone was stolen and all Apple got back was an empty box! Luckily they gave me a credit for it but I just don’t want that headache. I could have chosen 9/19 for both but last time I did that on release day it was too busy.

Picking up my 17 Pro Max 256 GB (Deep Blue) in Store 9/19 after work. Luckily, my job is 15 mins away from the mall where my local Apple store is located.
