Safari can already do that. It only dumps background tabs when memory is needed. (which unfortunately is quite often for the memory starved iPad 1 and iPod touch)

For business use when faces are more meaningful than names, or if you meet a lot of people, faces would be great to scroll through like alums 🙂

- Make iMessages its own thing with its own contact list
- Bluetooth OBEX (will never happen but it'd be nice)
- The ability to remove official app icons from the home screen (I do not need a contacts icon when it's inside the phone app!)
- Actual access to the filesystem (again, this will never happen, but it'd be hella useful)
- Siri on the iPhone 4 (yes, I know, also not gonna happen...)
- Browser extensions (ad blocker software for Safari would be excellent)

I am surprised there was ever a contacts app to begin with...Jobs is such a minimalist that I wonder why he put it in knowing contacts was inside the phone app.

I also think News Stand should go away unless I've actually installed apps which use it.

There is no phone app on the iPod touch...they are different builds...they could have had a phone app on the iPhone and a contacts app on the touch.
Contacts app is necessary for many. When on a call, the contacts within the phone app are unavailable as tapping the phone app takes you back to the call. A separate contacts app allows you to access any contact data in these situations.

Then Apple should let you access contacts in the phone app during a call. There's still no need for a separate contacts icon. It's clutter.
No, it isn't. The current implementation of iMessage is too dumbed down for its own good. It's a crap shot guess who, in my contacts, has iMessage, because there's no indicator or list. If it worked like WhatsApp, where it scanned my contacts and gave me a nice list of other people who used the service, it'd be a lot more useful. This would keep it simple, because I wouldn't have to manually add people, but it'd also make it actually usable.
How could iMessage work more simply? If the recipient has iOS 5 then Messages automatically sends via iMessage, and if they don't, a standard SMS is sent. The indicator is the word iMessage in the text field and a blue Send button.

And what if the recipient hasn't got an iPhone, but an iPad or iPod touch? They'll be using their e-mail address for iMessage, right? So am I meant to send texts to all my contacts' e-mail addresses until I find which ones have iMessage?
And say I've run out of free texts. I want to talk to someone via iMessage. How do I know it'll go through using iMessage? It's a crap shot if I don't happen to have an existing conversation with that contact on my phone.
On the other hand, if I had an iMessage icon with a list of people in my contacts who use iMessage, it'd be much simpler. Integrating it into the text app is far too dumbed down.
Though iPhone has one of the best camera and is quickly replacing the P&S cameras...it's photo management software sucks donkey's ass.
Its extremely limited. I can't even delete a photo thats synced with my PC/Mac? Are you kidding? Though albums are introduced in iOS 5, they again are very basic...infact, silly.
Apple should have built an iPhoto app for iOS instead of unnecessary iMovie.
And the most important and annoying part of IOS's photo management....i take a pic...and WHY THE F can't i send it to others using bluetooth???? Not even to other iOS users without installing a crappy app!! I agree that sharing of music files may be something to do with copyright and stuff (looks like only apple is bothered too much about piracy, duh), but why can't i send the pics that i have taken with my phone?

I think the message app should have an option to show who has iMessage (or maybe the contact app).... I think having it two different programs negates what Apple had in mind.
how about just add the top paid utilities in app store as native features of next ed of ios?? 😀😀

Auto Pass code lock my phone when leaving
Predesignated areas. Remain unlocked in designated areas when pass code entered.
Pass code lock apps by someone's using my phone feature. ie i pre assign which apps to lock when I push a certain button. Could be home button assignable but I like to assign toggle white on black to that so maybe use another button to toggle app lock.
A bit clunky but 3 click home button can be set to ask. So it'd mean another click to then lock apps if it was listed there.
Full screen safari.
Better overall ui integration with the white on black theme. Option to view photos normally.

Based on previous releases the 4G touch probably will, while the 3GS probably won't. I couldn't even guess with the iPad 1. I mean on one hand it was released with iOS 3.2, so it's already received two major updates. On the other hand it has the same A4 processor as the iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G.
An actual HOME SCREEN, not a applications list.
I like my desktops clean, without many icons, there should be a new innovation of the home screen (desktop) to be put to better use.

the actual point of a clean homescreen is to provide information or feedback about something, possible customizable to each user. Not just to have a blank screen.
I want to put it to use !
Live icons: For the clock app, the min & sec hand actually moves; weather app, changes to the actual temp instead of always a sun and 73 degrees.
Widgets would also be cool, I'm sure Apple can do it and make it work for iOS. The space that would take 2 or 4 individual apps could become one widget.
Newsstand should allow all news apps/mag subscriptions to be in it like the CNN, Fox, ABC, Times apps that dont support it.
Folders should allow more apps and allow you to choose an icon for them.
Live wallpaper, just make this an option for people that want to use it at the expense of draining battery.
