Oddly, they're not pink (I think), just wish me good luck at the Apple store today. If it doesn't work out...I don't want to think about it, lol
EDIT: Uh-oh....................I checked more closely, and it's quarter-pink.............do you think they will accept it?
I would both think and hope that they will not accept it.
I'll try to make sure that they don't find out
Accept you mistake and be done with it.
And stop posting here like your hesitant to talk; if you feel guilty saying it, don't do it.
Then we cannot help you any longer.
You're still forgetting the one inside the dock connector....regardless of your attempting to rip off a company for your own mistakes.
yay for fraud!
"No comment" means I'm not making any statements.

I was reading the warranty, and it said nothing about water damage, but it did say that it does not cover accidents. Just a question: Why is there even a warranty if you can't even return it for a new one if it doesn't even cover accidents? Is there another reason why you would need a warranty except for accidents?
applecare covers manufactiring defects, like if the screen was bad, cracks, speaker doesnt work, etc from manufacturing
it does not cover user induced accidents, like spilling water on it or shattering glass by dropping it

Why do you think insurance which includes accidental damage for a product tends to cost so much?
Its cos people are clumsy and claim a lot and it costs a lot
Can you imaging how much prices would have to increase to cover the losses ... if you drove your car into a brick wall do you expect to tow it into the dealership and say "yeah ... i know its my fault but come on ... fix the car for free"..... think about what you're saying
That ipod of your thats dead due to water will require probably about 90% of its components to be replaced .... that costs money ... take some responsibility for your actions

Well in my case the iPod worked fine after I washed it, but the battery was fried. If only the battery was user-serviceable ... but it's not. So I tricked Apple into replacing it under warranty, and I didn't feel the least bit guilty about it.

Nice one, I hope the person I'm talking to on Tuesday is nice like yours was.

They weren't nice, and the water sensor was the first thing they checked. Fortunately I had replaced the water sensor so it was impossible to determine that it had gone through the wash.![]()

What? They have millions of dollars, and they can't help those "few" people who broke their products?

Make that "billions" and you'll be on the right track.
That said, I don't think any company should be responsible for covering user-caused damage. It's not their fault you washed your iPod.
I chose to defraud Apple because while I love their products, I hate their way of doing business. I'm pissed that I've had to have my iPhone 3G replaced five time under warranty due to hardware issues caused by a complete lack of quality control at Foxconn. I'm highly annoyed that my AirMac Extreme can't operate in wide-channel mode due to long-since-removed restrictions imposed by Japanese law and Apple's apparent unwillingness to fix the issue with a simple firmware upgrade. I think it's completely assinine that I had to restore my iPhone more than forty times between July 11th on the end (?) of September due to well-documented bugs in the 2.0 firmware. Apple cost me hours upon hours of time, and I plan to recoup my losses in any way possible, including fraudulent replacement of water-damaged iPods.![]()

I was talking about their cash hordes, not about the number of people stupid enough to wash their iPods (like me)![]()
Why is everyone teaching him how to commit fraud? Suck it up. You ruined your iPod. I feel bad for you, but you can't expect Apple to do a thing about it and tricking them is not a good idea.
True, I agree. There are so many posts regarding the iPod + water damage. Research a little before posting a new thread.
