I think nothing, just iPad Air, mini, Yosemite and a new iMac. That's it.

Anyone think they will surprises us?

Ipad, iMac and Yosemite. A new mini or apple tv would be awesome though :)

Why are we so sure that it's gonna be on 16th? Normally Apple holds event every Tuesday so 21st looks like a more promising date.

All I'm thinking is a thinner iPad with touchid and a slightly improved camera. I mean the iPhone 6 doesn't have too many wow features that were added since the 5s, and I think the next revision of the iPad will have only a small number of improvements.

I also don't think they'll use this time to release any iMacs (no broadwell chipset), but I could be wrong.

apple has earnings call on the 20th so they would not have a event on the 21st. usually apple events are before this earnings call.

Definites:

-OS X Yosemite
- third generation iPad mini
- new iPad Air

Maybe:

- iPad Pro
- Haswell E based Mac Pro
- the rumored 12" retina Air-type laptop thing
- Redesigned Mac minis
- Retina iMacs (21.5" and/or 27")
- Retina Thunderbolt Display
- Discontinuation of Mid 2012 13" (non-retina) MacBook Pro
- iOS 8.1 general release

Unlikely:

- New AppleTV
- 6th Generation iPod touch with 4.7" screen
- iPod nano update

Even more unlikely:

- 5.5" iPod touch/iPad nano (contract-less iPhone 6 Plus)
- New MacBook Pros with Retina Display
- iPod shuffle updates

Impossible:

- Another iPhone
- Xserve resurrection update
- iPod classic resurrection update

When Pigs Fly:

- PowerBook G5

iPads:
Current iPads are thin enough.
It will all be internal changes with touchID, possibly NFC.
iOS8.1 update to introduce Apple Pay fully, and get all features promised for the Yosemite Release.

I've been happy with the latest beta, no issues with the tools and apps I use. It would be nice to get iTunes Wireless Sync working properly again. I do not think that the current handover/sync etc is strong enough for a Pro iPad, maybe next year.

New Macs and MacBooks?
If they do, again it'll be all internal updates, retina on the high end desktop units, increasing a premium product into the stratosphere, out of the reach for some. As for the 12" Air/Pro - to replace the 11" air, yes, as another product, no.

New Mac Mini?
Maybe, but Im thinking they'll wait for Intel to get their chips into gear before a new Mac mini turns up though, it will be disappointing if it's only a Haswell update. Current version could be pushed with more memory/hdd storage, for what people use Mac Minis for (Media Center, gateway-drug), then the current version is still ok (I have a level entry one, works well).

Apple TV?
The flurry of TV boxes that appeared last year (Roku, Chromecast) have not had as much penetration as expect, especially here in the UK. That has kind of burnt itself out again.

It might be just me but...

Sometimes it would be better if they did the iPads and macs on a two year cycle, rather than a yearly one. It would provoke a bit more "wow" factor if they did.

I know tech is fast moving, but they can up processor, memory and disk spec as a yearly thing without so much pizzaz, they have done it in the past.

LOL! How about the resurrection of the eMac?! :p

I think we'll see at least the 12" iPad get announced with a possible ship date before Xmas and Retina Thunderbolt displays.

Invitation out! I could never be more glad to be proven wrong.

The tagline is "it's been too long". I am hoping this hints for update on mac mini.

If you don't consider the neutered-beyond-humane-limits current lowest end 21.5" iMac to be the living reincarnation of the eMac, then I'd file that under "When Pigs Fly, But Then Get Too Lazy To Fly, So They Teleport Instead:"

With invites out, I'm starting to think Apple TV, still leaning toward no surprises, but this is Tim Cooks Apple now and he LOVED surprising people on the design of the watch.

So a completely new idea, new device for Apple TV, one with an App Store, gaming, and can do home kit justice. I also think they may change the name to Apple TV Home, or just :apple:Home

If it has apps, it will need time for developers, so announce now, ship later, otherwise they lose the surprise.

I hope the rMini 2 will be NOT thinner (it is thin enough) but LIGHTER much more LIGHTER than it is now.

The 2nd rMini will most likely be 33% thinner, which will make it lighter as well. Hopefully the rMini will be updated on the 16th and not next year.
