Wondering if maybe a pre-load was pushed to some of our phones last night?

No, that's now how it works.

If you're updating OTA and you have a large file (larger than 130MB), then you were running the beta.

Otherwise OTA updates are delta updates, therefore a smaller file size. If you update through iTunes, it downloads the full iOS IPSW file, which is much larger.

iTunes updates download the full iOS ipsw. Software Updates directly from the phone are delta updates, only downloading the changes between the software versions.

OK, the 8.01 update was not a full iso though, just a small update through itunes.

OK, thanks. I did 8.01 through itunes though and it was only 22 or something like that and not the whole iso.

Done, already received my first phone call, so my cellular connectivity is gtg

Apple Pay is soooo cool! Just tried it at Chevron, though I did notice if you choose to use a debit purchase and enter your pin, it will decline so I can only make a payment as credit. Maybe it needs my iPhone pin? I know google wallet needs you to use your wallet pin on the POS terminal if you choose debit. :apple:
