Apple will hold its first event of 2016 next Monday, and while it won't be as exciting as last year's event that saw the launch of the Apple Watch, Apple is planning to introduce several new products. Headlining the event will be the 4-inch iPhone SE, Apple's first 4-inch iPhone since 2013.

Joining the iPhone SE will be a new 9.7-inch iPad, a range of new Apple Watch bands, and software updates for iOS 9, watchOS 2, tvOS, and OS X El Capitan.

I think this is one keynote I can skip. The products it's likely to focus on are not for me. I'm waiting for the "iPhone 7+". I already have an iPad Pro. I don't care about Apple Watch bands (I used the sport band with my SS Apple Watch until recently, when I picked up a black Milanese Loop on Amazon for $25).

I'll read the articles that come out in the wake of the presentation in case there's anything I missed. No need to be distracted.

I'm still really annoyed at the lack of new desktop hardware (Mini and MP). If they're only going to refresh every 2-3 years they could at least cut the pricing a bit so I don't have to pay a premium for 2 year-old technology. Need to buy a couple minis anyway, just waiting 'til Monday on the remote chance Festivus comes early.

Looking forward to seeing how quickly Phil Schiller skims over 16gb storage for the iPhone SE and a $100 bumped price point for the next iPad! No doubt there'll be a few audience groans.
The same way they always do. They'll put the capacities and the prices on the screen behind him. If you're wanting bloodshed or something more exciting, watch a Trump rally.

The only thing in this lineup that I might find interesting is anything about iOS or OS X; and even that's not a definite. If the macbook lineup gets upgrades, that could be interesting. I sure hope they don't actually dedicate part of a keynote to watch BANDS. New watch, definitely; updated watchOS, fine; but just new bands? It sounds like something you put in to fill time. I'll wait and watch the highlights later in the evening for this one.

Honestly it looks like this is shaping up to be one of the first Apple Keynotes I could fall a sleep during without missing anything of interest. I'm sure iOS 9.3 will prove to be a great update, and I do hope the iPhone whatever SE ends up being the 4-inch phone people have been waiting for but I do not have any interest in such a device.

I've always been selling my current iPad and grabbed the newest one upon every release of a new generation (minus the iPad Pro because it was simply too big, too expensive and the lack of 32GB with LTE was putting me off getting one was I do need LTE, but I have no use for 128GB..). I do love the idea of a iPad Pro 9,7-inch, seems like the perfect size and device for me but if the rumours holds true and Apple keeps pushing the "you need to grab the expensive 128GB model if you need LTE" nonsense I will simply refuse to comply. It's downright silly to force people into getting the most expensive model of the bunch simply because one might want LTE on such a portable and mobile device....

But who knows. Perhaps Timothy got some magic dust up his sleeve.

Tim Cook: iPad sales have been slowing down for the last few years, what can we do to excite customers again?

Schiller: why not lower the prices of the iPad or add something useful and unique to the new ones, something that customers may actually care about other than a $100 crayon?

Cook: great idea! A price change! Let's call it the iPad pro and charge $100 more for fun!

Schiller: oh for **** sake...

I'm excited. The long awaited return of the best (and Steve Jobs approved) iPhone size with no skimping on specs (other than the worthless 3D Touch) and it will still have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Now, if Apple can bring back the 16:10 24" iMac, I would be in heaven.

Amen brother. It's very annoying.
