I'm still really annoyed at the lack of new desktop hardware (Mini and MP). If they're only going to refresh every 2-3 years they could at least cut the pricing a bit so I don't have to pay a premium for 2 year-old technology. Need to buy a couple minis anyway, just waiting 'til Monday on the remote chance Festivus comes early.

This. PLEASE update Macs, for the love of anything. I get that mobile is the moneymaker, but have been waiting so long for a refresh to the Air and Pro lines, and just all Macs in general. For the first time I have ever said this, after the 6s era, I truly can say my phone does everything it needs to do, I really am not too set on replacing it immediately. For my personal needs that is, I have found the phone to be near perfection. Was definitely not the case with any prior iPhones.

My mac on the other hand feels like it is ancient now and it is the 2015 model.

The new iPhone might just bring me back from Android. I'll watch and see.

I think if you did a Poll right now there would be a heck of a lot more votes for Boring or Dissapointed than for Excited or Pleased.

For me, only news about laptops would make this event worth watching.

I never liked the form factor of iPhone 5. The iPhone 4 and iPhone 6 are my favorite models.

Apple, you suck right now. Do they have anyone whatsoever working on Mac?

I agree, I had my MBP for almost 4 years now. If it breaks down, and there is no Skyle lake Macs, I will buy a Windows machine.

Here's a random thought: What if Apple comes out with a new iPad—in addition to the iPad Pro 9.7"? Just call it the iPad, like they have the MacBook Pro and MacBook? Sure the MacBook Air still exists, but I have to wonder for how much longer as the MacBook is thinner than the Air? They could just have an iPad with specs similar to the iPhone 6s at $499. No Apple Pencil, no new speaker design, no new camera, no smart connector, and the slower A9 chip with half the RAM starting at 16GB (although I think Apple really needs to start these things at 32GB these days) and perhaps limiting the storage upgrade options.

I really wish Apple would do this:
  • Two iPad sizes: 7.9" and 9.7"
  • Two iPad Pro sizes: 9.7" and 12.9"
  • Two iPhone sizes: 4" and 4.7"
  • Two iPhone Pro sizes: 4.7" and 5.5"
  • Two MacBook sizes: 12" and 15"
  • Two MacBook Pro sizes: 15" and 17"
  • Two iMac Sizes: 24" and 30"
  • Two "headless" Macs: Mac Mini and Mac Pro

I'm hoping to see some laptops get bumped, mainly because I need a new one for work and can't really wait for WWDC. It's not on my dime, so I suppose it doesn't really matter... but having to pay the same price for year-old hardware seems silly.

However it sounds like that's not really expected to happen, in which case this is shaping up to be a pretty lame non-event. I mean, watch bands? Seriously?!

It seems like a long time since the last event so I'm looking forward to watching it even though I'm not really interested in any of the rumoured products which are due to be introduced.

pretty much spot on for me. I want a new iPad but my original air still works like a champ and gets epic battery life.

I'm excited. The long awaited return of the best (and Steve Jobs approved) iPhone size with no skimping on specs (other than the worthless 3D Touch) and it will still have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Now, if Apple can bring back the 16:10 24" iMac, I would be in heaven.

I will never ever ever ever give up the screen size of my plus. So i guess "perfect" size is subjective lol

I'll skip that Keynote. Unless we're talking iPhone 7, I can't deal with Tim Cooks' awkwardness !..
Give the guy a break. He's under intense pressure right now. I'm hoping he'll mention the FBI issue and receive a standing ovation for his stance to defend our privacy.

Sure he doesn't have Steve's charisma, few tech CEOs do, get over it.

Honestly, who cares about Apple Watch, the lamest fad since parachute pants. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing one. The sooner Apple acknowledges the watch is a failure, the sooner they can focus on their long-neglected Macs.

Right, failing to flop and gaining speed.

(Parachute pants is funny by the way. As a reward, treat yourself to the iPhone Cookie Monster video.)

Watch bands ? snooze. I'll skip that.

4" iPhone with 6S tech, yea that would be great. Please let it have a headphone jack with a Burr-Brown DAC :)
32GB min., OLED display, swappable battery and microSD slot.
yea i know... pigs might fly.

what happened to the iPod?!? Been MIA for 4 years now.

Actually I bought an iPod Touch 6th Generation just yesterday.

The current iPod is not been 'MIA for 4 years'...it received a major update and upgrade last Summer. Rather than go into the many improvements.....just think iPhone 6 innards with a bit slower 'clocking'. And yes, it has 803.11ac wi-fi and this iPod works great with iOS 9.3 (beta).

Why did I buy it? Well, my wife never embraced modern gadgets like iPad or the iPhone. Nor, does she use texting or email. All she wanted was something small, light, and that could fulfill her only use for the internet. That being watching news, history, culture videos. The new iPod works for her whether flopped in a chair, couch or bed.

Admittedly, the iPod's life cycle appears ending as most folks, even kids, want the iPhone which does it all. But for a smaller demographic that does not want to pay for a iPhone price and contract....and only wants a small, portable video-capable and massive storage vault for their recording library....well, the iPod lives on for now.

They had 15min left for the event and they had nothing else to announce... enter new watch bands... seriously, why are watch bands even an announcement?
Actually, the "Loop" in the title makes it quite clear - the announcement is all about new watch bands - two full hours of nothing but new watch bands, with the middle 45 minutes devoted to a video of Jony Ive explaining how the Space Black Milanese Loop "is the best watch band we've ever made". The silly bits about new iPhones and iPads are just wild rumors from hopeful fans.

There will, however, be a One More Thing™, with Tim Cook referring to the new Spaceship Campus: "Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL battle station!", as the partially completed campus lifts off into low earth orbit and slags Google.
