Steve Jobs was probably the best pitchman in the tech industry. I can think of few (if any) CEOs with his passion and charisma. It's a tough act to follow.

CE3 - I agree that Steve is a very tough act to follow. Timmy has had over 5 years to get his act together and, IMO, is failing. His presentations lack substance and his style is the worst I have seen. Initially, my criticisms of Cook & Team were met with deriding commentary and some hostility. Now more and more people are seeing Timmy as a poor CEO that really should have stuck with the role of supply chain leadership.

I do hope that I am wrong and that Monday we all have our socks blown off - we will know shortly.

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off on Monday, June 13 with a keynote event at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, where Apple is expected to show off the latest versions of its iOS, OS X, tvOS, and watchOS operating systems and perhaps debut new features for services like Apple Pay and iCloud.

Ahead of the conference, we've compiled all of the rumors that we've heard about features that could potentially debut at the event to give MacRumors readers an idea of what to expect.

iOS 10

Apple's operating system for iPhones and iPads has gone largely without design changes since iOS 7, so it's reasonable to assume iOS 10 may feature some design tweaks to update the look of the OS. A dark mode is one possibility that's been circulating based on the look of Apple's WWDC app and site, but there's no evidence suggesting such a feature will be implemented.

Apple are feverishly working on Something massive in the background ( electric car?)

So no major product release isn't a surprise.

Can they take on Tesla- Elon Musk is out Steve Jobbing Steve Jobs- he is genuinely innovating and is making the others , Apple included look stale and sluggish

I hope they go back to the 3D look they used on iOS6 and Mac OS X 10.9 The current plain flat look is a step back. I know is the trend; even Microsoft is using it, but sometimes it's harder to read. Besides, it looks unfinished and cheap.

great summary! I hope they announce a replacement for Tim too!

Overall I don't think i'll watch the event. Just doesn't have that wow factor anymore. Tim sure isn't the showman Steve was. Tim really isn't much of anyone. Will he still be in India for the event?

A lot of selective memory in this thread. I remember the dark last PowerPC days when keynote after keynote went by with no PowerBook G5. Then I had to buy a terribly outdated PowerBook for college.

Anyway, for a 10/10 keynote (while still being reasonable), this is what I want:
iOS:
-Dark Mode
-Control Center customization
-Set default apps
-Siri w/ API

OS X:
-Metal 2.0
-Dark Mode
-Siri
-New Filesystem
-Don't screw up my hackintosh
–Don't get rid of Dashboard

AppleTV:
-Nothing. Fix the remote first.

iCloud upgrades:
-Not so cheap with storage
-Encryption updates

MBP:
-USB C, but with HDMI and Magsafe
-Upgraded minimum storage. 512 should not cost a kidney.
-Omnibar thingie

I have high hopes for my software wishes (except for the FS), but there's too much anti-hardware noise to be hopeful for a MBP update. I hold out a sliver of hope because the OLED screen would need developer support, so I could see them announcing it with a release a month or two out.

My expectations are high, I think Apple is going to do some new stuff to change their declining sales

redesigned MBPs or bust!

This seems highly likely. OS X used to come out in July & August, and only recently has it slipped to September and October. What if they get it back to July & August this year? Then they can announce the new MacBooks but not ship until July or August, and give developers a chance to integrate the TouchBar into their apps, or shortly thereafter, without giving the competition much lead time to rush something to market.

Subscription Apps & Siri on the Mac. Not thrilled Apple! I hate subscription apps and IAP's.

I do hope I will get to see a MacMini update before I pass away. One day, it will come.

As long as it's an update in the right direction this time, instead of an advance backward.

It will come, question is, will it be faster than the 2012 mini

The new mac mini is definitely coming! It should be here by 2013 latest.

Yeah, that would be a cool and-one-more-thing moment - maybe Al Gore jumps up on the stage and delivers the news!
Introducing Steve Ballmer, new Apple CEO.

Developers developers developers developers developers developers developers. Welcome to WWDC. Repeat 5 times.

Apple will announce that they are going to spend three billion dollars in R&D trying to find a way to turn Apple Music into a workable system.

Elon Musk isn't innovating. He hasn't brought anything to the table, even his electric car for the mass is already offered by numerous manufacturers right now, without a waiting list, and for about the same price if not less than Tesla's as of yet not fully designed model 3. Even other companies were releasing exclusive electric cars before Tesla.

Even the Hyperloop project is using existing technology called Maglev. Maglev is already in place in China, and was in place in Birmingham airport (UK) for a very long term before that.

Most of Tesla's 'innovations' and 'inventions' are existing technology, the reason they offer it out for free is because for the most part they themselves don't own that technology.

Also, if Jobs gets slated for just being the showman with little ideas of his own, then Elon Musk is worse. All he has done is invest through money he earned through an idea that was not his own and gets up on stage to be a showman, but if anyone has seen his presentations then they will know he's just not a showman.
