This seems highly likely. OS X used to come out in July & August, and only recently has it slipped to September and October. What if they get it back to July & August this year? Then they can announce the new MacBooks but not ship until July or August, and give developers a chance to integrate the TouchBar into their apps, or shortly thereafter, without giving the competition much lead time to rush something to market.

This would make sense to introduce the new 2016 models or at least announce next week to balance out the year's releases.

Developers will have time to develop for the 'back to school' purchases and Holiday seasons. Also Gives time for people to desire to buy in the fall and anticipate for the holidays. This type of strategy is a Mac centered focus, but apple instead is focusing on iPhones (profit generating) and watches.

Of course profits are great, but come on..how much is "enough".

It's time to 'wow' the consumer with something great to buy in the mac product lines!

Elon Musk isn't innovating. He hasn't brought anything to the table, even his electric car for the mass is already offered by numerous manufacturers right now, without a waiting list, and for about the same price if not less than Tesla's as of yet not fully designed model 3. Even other companies were releasing exclusive electric cars before Tesla.

Even the Hyperloop project is using existing technology called Maglev. Maglev is already in place in China, and was in place in Birmingham airport (UK) for a very long term before that.

Most of Tesla's 'innovations' and 'inventions' are existing technology, the reason they offer it out for free is because for the most part they themselves don't own that technology.

Also, if Jobs gets slated for just being the showman with little ideas of his own, then Elon Musk is worse. All he has done is invest through money he earned through an idea that was not his own and gets up on stage to be a showman, but if anyone has seen his presentations then they will know he's just not a showman.

Compared to the three stooges, Tim, Phil and Eddy, Elon Musk is Thomas Edison.

WWDC is almost always my favorite keynote. While I'm obviously a fan of Mac hardware, I use it because of OS X. Swift has been my favorite announcement as of late and I'm really looking forward to all the OS updates.

Siri coming to Macs is going to be awesome too. I don't use it much but I know my parents will finally start using things like calendars and reminders if they can do it by voice.

I don't see much showmanship when I see Elon Musk's presentations. But even without showmanship he managed to get 400,000 people (including me) to put down a thousand bucks deposit on the Model 3.

With no salesmanship ability whatsoever. None. And nothing really new. There's no dog and no pony for the dog and pony show. There must be more to Musk than that, because all the superficial stuff is unconvincing. Yet we're convinced.

You make a great case. You really sell it well, but it falls flat in the face of Tesla's success. Your argument is all show and no substance. After one test drive in a Model S, most people can easily shake off your flashy rhetoric.

Love to see a new filesystem for Mac OS. Not holding my breath.

I think we would have heard a rumor by now but yes. That would one of the best announcements they could make. HFS+ is probably the worst "modern" file system in regular use.

"Apple is expected to reintroduce some abilities that were initially found in iPhoto before it was discontinued and while we don't know specifics, iPhoto previously had features like EXIF editing and touch-based brushes for adjusting brightness and other parameters on only specific parts of a photo."

Maybe Apple should just stop dumbing down their software in the first place. This is not the first time old features are "reintroduced".

I predict that the biggest news at WWDC will be that LLVM bitcode will be required for all apps to run on OS X 10.12, whether the app is from the Mac App Store or not.

This will set the stage for new MacBook announcements a few months later.

Really want the Skylake 13" rmbp. 15" can wait till AMD cuts down the RX480 card to fit laptops.

Else, I'll just build a desktop with the money I had set aside for the retina macbook pro 2016.

I'm generally not too jazzed about software information but I'm excited to see what iOS 10 is going to bring particularly since hardware leaks for the next iPhone(s) have been underwhelming.

So they already have transportation systems working at the speeds that Hyperloop would offer?

What is she majoring in? The MacBook could be just fine. The keyboard is actually pretty good once you get used to it. Remember chicklet keyboards once felt "mushy" compared to the typewriter key-style desktop keyboards we used to use. It's the same way with the butterfly keyboard.
[doublepost=1465594835][/doublepost]
And if they had rushed out MacBook Pros last November or even February with Intel's buggy Skylake drivers, the same people would be complaining that Apple has "lost its way" and puts out junk that crashes all the time.

My guess is that there is a good reason that they haven't come out with updated MacBook Pros yet. It doesn't make sense to put out a Skylake refresh of the current design now if they have a more significant redesign coming in Q4 (imagine the uproar if they did that).

She's undecided right now. I think the horsepower will be fine...but she really didn't dig the keyboard at the store. And I didn't dig the one port. It would be adapters/dongles. And I really liked the magsafe feature. It just feels like it's a compromise....especially at the price.

I might be slightly misquoting, but doesn't a character in a courtroom drama movie say....."Please tell me that you have something more, Lieutenant. These old has-been execs are on trial for their bloated comp. Please tell me their shareholders haven't pinned their hopes to a few minor OS tweaks?"

I just need Siri to get smarter and more responsive.

I love Siri or rather the idea of it. Asking a question or placing a request action or information and having a digital minion help me. However when I do get a response from the Hey Siri feature what Siri records is usually wrong and even when right just gives me search engine results.

I DONT WANT SEARCH ENGINE RESULTS I COULD OF DONE THAT ! ( sorry to shout but how annoything though when you probably just repeated yourself five times to your device wanting to speed up the finding on information only to be given the proverbial "Google is your friend" and are left to find what you need yourself.

We need better access to information first time. Apple always boasts about sport results. I just asked Siri about Euro 2016 games today and results from yesterday.... Nothing just a search result. Pathetic.

Every other mini UI tweek can wait, this is a main feature and is pointless.

Oh for days of yonder, when we had Steve Jobs to wow us with the latest stuff. His keynotes were legendary, and I looked forward to every one with baited breath. Those days are gone forever, alas.

It seems as though Cook almost wants to disappoint us, wants the keynote to be dull, wants to concentrate on watch bands, Eddy Cue wobbling to music, vacuous celebrities and pushing ads and subscriptions, all things that fly in the face of Steve's Apple.

Perhaps, one day, Apple will be released from the clutches of decay. May we all yearn for a return to Apple's original Raison d'être: providing us with the finest computers. Goodbye distractions, hello focus. I fear my optimism is hopeless and deluded. :(

.... bated breath ....

I always find it amusing when I use my cousin's iphone and I'm like "OK Google", then I remember its Siri but it doesn't do anything that is close to Google. With "Now On Tap", search just got even lazier and intuitive.

The main difference is that Google is pushing the boundaries of exciting tech like AI and machine learning while Apple is just. . . making things thinner and more watch bands!

I'm going to go off a whim and say
1) sales results
2) someone is going to say developer
3) Jony Ive's white room.
4) Tim will say 'It's absolutely amazing'
5) Phil will say 'It's fantastic'
6) Craig will have a selfie in the presentation
7) Tim will say "It will be available for developers later today" (see #2)

8) Something to do with medical.
9) watch bands
10) products are "greener" than ever.
11) more iPhones in the world than ever before!

I look forward to this every year. Will shirts be tucked or untucked? Will Craig's hair go rogue? Will Chinese translator lady grace us with her presence!? All will be revealed... :p

Please don't be disappointing. Please don't be disappointing. Please don't be disappointing.

Those who are expecting anything great you may not see it this year. I mean seriously the format will be more like:

Intro with Tim about how great Apple Watch is, how great the sales are, how many apps are being sold and how much money developers have made in this industry. Then cue the iTunes guys to come on stage to talk about how music subscriptions are the future.

Then of course the obligatory video of people buy the iPhone SE or lack of and again we see more talk about the future at Apple.

More watch bands of course. you will see Craig on stage with so many bad jokes and he'll introduce the new macOS.

Seriously, this is a developers conference. Nothing spectacular comes out of these events. Let's all save the confetti for 2017 when a serious iPhone arrives.
