The external display feature would be a game changer for me when I travel. I have no use for an iPad at the moment but to work as a second screen for programs like After Effects or Resolve when I am on work trips would be amazing.

My iOS wishlist:

  • Xcode for iPad
  • Swift Playground for iPhone
  • Unix Terminal.app with compilers, long running tasks (webserver, Syncthing) and Files integration
  • configurable Shortcuts at least for App if not also global
  • Files.app with external storage support
  • writing IMG files to SD-Card (prepare Raspberry systems)
  • Photo server not limited to iCloud but to my self-hosted storage
  • Trackpad support with Mousepointer & Marzipan Apps
  • external Monitor support for ergonomic working
  • other Browser engines
  • other default apps than the one from Apple

Any current MacBook isn't an alternative because of current Keyboard. Smart Keyboard is great to type and dust resistant. Also any current MacBook isn't a tablet. It's easier to use a tablet like a Mac than a Mac like a tablet.
Don't do again boring discussions that iOS Apps are not suited for Mousepointer. Apple shows the opposite with Marzipan apps.

Eewww.

I really hope these are not the real icons for the new apps.

Dropping support for 32 bit Apps like Aperture means I will hold off as long as possible before updating to Mac OS 10.15. I prefer Aperture over Photos. And i have a lot of 3rd party music apps I use in the studio that I know will break. Does churn really equal progress, or is it to keep us buying new stuff to keep the tech industry employed?

Definitely WFH Monday to watch the keynote live in the comfort of my living room (see below).

iOS 13 WWDC beta day 1 installers - roll call!

Wish I knew why it took 13 revisions to get that volume HUD out of the way...
My guess is that it has something to do with the pre-iOS 7 HUD; it was slightly translucent black. Then Apple translated everything thing to Ive's new design language, and it got frosted, completely obscuring what's beneath it.

Maybe it's me, but I don't really see anything all that exciting outside the possibility of a rumored MacPro.
I'm looking forward to seeing what it is, but I suspect people are going to find out that it isn't what they want. It'll be expensive, for sure, and not targeted at gamers. People will fixate on the price of the 30 core fusion simulator version and start complaining immediately and the discussion from there will slowly devolve into who deserves to be called a "pro".

Any chance Scott Forstall will be on stage announcing the return of user interfaces that are easy to use, approachable, friendly and fun?

This. I’m dead ****ing tired of the ugly ass fisher price themed UI that we currently have! They need to change that **** ASAP. They love waiting until the absolute last possible critical minute to make changes that come as just basic common sense to the onlookers. They do it on purpose, because they know they could do next to nothing to the software/hardware and people would still eat it up like jelly filled donuts.

Maybe someone can ask Apple's engineers if they're ever going to complete (as promised) the document that explains on how to migrate your macOS Server setup to open source versions (for me: mainly Mail Services). The documentation to help with this transition was last updated in June 2018 and said:

This guide is designed to assist those administrators comfortable with installing and maintaining open source projects to migrate their service data to the underlying open source project that was previously bundled with macOS Server.

NOTE: This document will be updated with additional service migration tasks.

but it never was updated. So, for instance, how to migrate Mail Services is still missing. And I'm waiting for this info. I am afraid though, that Apple has simply dropped us original macOS Server users.

"iPad as an external display" could be a quite exciting if it is done right. It could let Apple challenge Wacom directly if it supported things like zBrush, photoshop, substance painter, etc.

Only things I want to know is if Watch OS6 will support my series 1? And to see what they’ve done with iOS 13 especially with regards to the iPad Pro.

And of course a Mac Pro would be nice :)

Oh and..... it would be RREEEAAAALLLYY nice if in the Mail app I can set it so if I swipe right or left I ONLY get the delete option! Not three options.. this is the one reason I use Outlook instead of Mail!

32-Bit App Support Ending

Apple began issuing warnings about 32-bit apps in macOS Mojave, and has said that Mojave will be the last version of macOS to support them.

Apple is expected to phase out support for 32-bit apps in macOS 10.15, which means some older apps that haven't been updated in a while will cease to work. Aperture, for example, Apple's now-discontinued photo editing software, will not run on macOS after Mojave, nor will any other 32-bit app.

Does this mean that Civilization V will stop working? I *just* upgraded from my 5 year old MBPr so that I could play games better, and that was the primary game I still play on my Mac.
