Here's my prediction, Apple cripples a bunch of Phones, watches, Apple TVs, and Macs to force people to upgrade, and the apologists explain it all away. **** you Apple, we are running out of land fill space...

Apple are alpha dog at the moment. Beautifully designed, super high quality devices all tied together with reliable software services. Looking forward to more cool stuff in 2018.

That macPro picture again, the screen will fall over, and the MacPro won't look anything like that.

And, a white mouse and keyboard!

That’s even smaller and uglier than the trash can, it addresses none of the issues with the 2013 model. Looks like a dell desktop

You did not mention operating systems though..... ;)

I’m waiting for the infamous xMac, but its clear that Apple dont want their followers to have a proper headless iMac, accompanied by expansion slots and upgradable parts.

A refreshed SE would be nice. If they could add a solid home button and water & dust resistance (like iPhone 7-8), it would make a great little device.

Buy your iPad now. A notch on the Pad wold be horrible. Plus, being able to unlock it in horizontal mode would be critical. Does that mean two notches (or maybe three so you can unlock it horizontally with either edge up??).

iPad would not need a notch if they put a small (5-7 mm) bezel on all sides. The horizontal unlock mode could also be hopefully figured out on the software side by then?

Personally yes I do. Had mostly all positive experiences with all my devices over the past couple of years.

Agreed, it solves nothing, it's also fugly but that borderless display would be nice though minus the stand.

Maybe waiting for Intel to release a 28W quad core?

Already there are 3.5MHz Kaby Lake dual-core processors that outperform the current high-end mini by 30+% in raw CPU power, and have faster video (and 4K@60Hz).

Mini prediction: in addition to a return of the quad core, Apple will switch from soldered to socketed, upgradable RAM. Max RAM capacity will also increase from 16GB to 32GB on the new mini.

I really-REALLY want/need a new Mac Mini, the one I am using right now is from 2012, it's not a bad machine at all except it can't drive a 4K display.
It's maxed out to a SSD and 16GB RAM, does it's job overall.

Gotta LOVE those concepts though.
Borderless screen... I'm waiting for something like this along with OLED in the iMac and I'm changing mine.

Some of them are really nice, like those of the borderless iPhone last year, I don't think you'll get the OLED iMac though, it's just too expensive, maybe microled in a couple of years.

Mac Mini please.
Or a reasonably priced headless mac.

Mac Mini, yes please, headless mac, no way, people are dreaming about it for over a decade, Apple does not deliver.

Tbh these are the only things I want from Apple next year:

iPad Pro 3 with Face ID and small bezels (not Oled)
Final Cut Pro X for iPad Pro (WANT)
iPad Pro 3 with 11X 8 core
IOS12 to be clean and not a dumpster fire

I’m happy with my iPhone X but would love for Apple to up there game and do those things to the iPad Pro so I can consolidate my 2016 MacBook Pro and 1st gen 12.9 inch iPad Pro.

Bring headless Macs and Thunderbolt displays. Including mini, mini tower and Pro. Keep display and upgrade CPU when needed. Wired keyboard and mouse to avoid batteries and workflow disruptions. Ecological.

For that iPhone line-up to truly work internationally, they need to slide the price points down a few $100 not introduce a “more affordable” model with worse specs than the same phone launched at that price last year.

Making your legacy top end price points your new entry level is stupid. You either cut out half your market or you’re forced to keep older models around considerably longer. The line-up is already a mess now and if these rumours are true then expect it to get messier.

Apple are on the edge of a PR disaster following the battery issues - they’re going to need to do a lot more than normal to win back the trust of some consumers.

Also think the MacBoo Pro updates will come a little sooner than June. Update cycle is typically 9-12 months so my guess is March/April.

That ship has sailed a while back, reasonably priced mac. iMac pro now sets the new benchmark for pricing , meaning Apple will bump up the other prices.

I need a new Mac. I prefer modular systems. I don‘t need insane amounts of CPU or GPU speed/power. I hope there will be a low-end/cheap-ish Mac Pro and/or a high-end Mac Mini. With a really nice new Apple 5K(+) Display, of course.
Agreed. I hope they go back to their old strategy of 3 price levels, based on the shipped CPU, GPU, RAM, and SSD config. I'd go for the low/mid CPU and boost the RAM/SSD with third party gear. Though I know it's unlikely, I also hope for an Nvidia option, since the vast majority of ML development only supports cuda... (though I suppose an eGPU is always an option).

What Apple needs to create is the “MacPod”. Instead of replacing your entire computer when you need to upgrade, just add another ‘Pod to the setup. They could even be pocket-sized to be kept in pockets and bags for mobile computing. Then we merely interact with a screen, which is the “host” pod in the setup.

In fact, they could deliver this experience today if they re-employed Xgrid technology. With so many powerful Apple devices now in the wild, such as within a family home, all devices could share their processing power and free CPU cycles.

This was such a brilliant idea. I wonder why Apple dropped it. I think they got distracted by their insane growth as a company and per-unit sales.
I have always wondered about this. When I get a new computer I don’t want some ancient display, keyboard and mouse hooked up to it. Is this really something people want?? Why would you want to hook up a brand new computer to use on an old display?

They make some of the most resellable and recyclable products on the market. Just sold my iPhone 6 Plus on eBay for $300 CDN. Good luck getting that for an Android from 2015. It’s the exploding Samsung phones filling up the landfills.

Apple must fight not to become a dull, mass market company with evil practices.
Stop all the mediocre stuff (content, music, AppleCar...), the extreme focus on luxury, expensive real estate and regain quality leadership in the core area's:
- better MacBooks (true keyboards, full connectivity)
- yearly upgrade cycles for iMac, Mac Mini
- iPad with integrated Pencil
- work out a MacTouchBook that blows SurfacePro away
- long-distance wireless charging: partner with Energeous and stop reinventing (their) wheel
- NO MORE designs "errors" like MagicMouse/Flimsy keyboards/iPhone Battcase/Notch

The amount of new products/ppliances hitting the market yearly is disappointing with the immense R&D resources and size/momentum (compared to e.g. car industry) A new Board will help to get rid of all the milking, slowness and contra-innovative attitude that is burdening a young, lean and mean, aggressive mindset.

That new, hungry Board (loaded billionaires to be avoided...) must reinvigorate product orientation, reinstate launch dates as currently, not a single product beyond the regular gets launched in time:
HomePod, AirPower, AirPods, iMessages in the Dark, Airplay 2, Mac Mini v3., MacPro modular, AppleCar (target?), iTV (target?), MagicKeyboard w/TouchBar, ApplePencil for iPhone, ForceTouch on iPad, iPad Mini 5... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The disorder is comparable to the Amelio/Performa times.

Mac Mini & Mac Mini Pro (Trashcan shape/size is OK, as long as it's upgradable) with upgraded TB3 (Titan Ridge with DP 1.4 support). Mac Mini Pro: Intel i7 8700K hex core or better with AMD Vega GPU.

Thunderbolt display/monitor with HDR1000 DCI P3 Gamut. 4K & 5K 27" & 30" (120Hz or 144Hz refresh Rates).

SGX support across the board and HDR support in MacOS.

Mac Pro with PCIe 4.0 (and possibly DDR5).
