Same here and more so, having moved vast majority of systems over to Windows based hardware. Frankly from a business perspective it`s difficult to trust Apple to follow through, as Apple has clearly abandoned some markets. Even if the 2016 lineup impresses, it`s likely to be far more focused on the average consumer, and who`s to say that Apple once again will allow the Mac & OS X to wither on the vine.
This is where I feel that Apple is misjudging the market, $2K upwards for the average consumer is a hefty price for a notebook or desktop. For systems that "produce & deliver" the same price and upwards is irrelevant as the hardware is monetised. Mac`s are not selling due too a lack of updates, they are not selling as they are simply too expensive for the intended target audience, and too diluted for many of us with higher needs. Nor I am willing any longer to support a company that does not at very least equally prioritise it`s desktop & notebook line up`s with it`s other products...
Was a time I would have unreservedly recommended the Mac, these day I pretty much discount it
Q-6
I have waited almost two years for a decent update to the rMBP.
Apple has been very dissapointing in the last few years, and I'm tired of hearing "this is the most ... Blahblah ever!
I will have a windows laptop configured and ready to press "buy" in the browser, as I watch the next announcement for rMBP.
OSX is super convenient, but for the right price, I will rather have *nix VM(s) running on (a surprinsingly much more stable than before) Win 10 to compensate.
I need a machine that will do the job, not a candy bar to impress some half brain dead hipster hamster at starbucks ...even Win laptops are starting to raise their quality and looks a lot. Just look at the dell xps...
S. Jobs must be crying (and screaming) in his grave...
So am I, because I was a "converted" PC guy.
