Don't hope too much,.Keynote has run for an hour...don't think there's space for anything else...Desktop line..if we are lucky will land with ML in Summer.

So is it the case that sometimes Apple updates a product line without announcing it at all?

Could I randomly be browsing the apple store in a week or two's time and find a new iMac has been released without me knowing about it?

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but spec updates have happened like that before.

I think we'll see Ivy Bridge, USB 3, updated graphics performance, and better SSD options. I don't think that's enough to be mentioned in the presentation when there's so much other stuff to talk about today.

i think it has more sense that the specs-bump happens today rather than 1-2-3 (100 more) weeks otherwise there will never be an ending point :p

How long does this keynote last for?

Surely if they were planning on releasing an updated iMac line in the very near future they would use this platform and publicity and at least mention it now?

Makes no sense to me for them to just keep quiet and hope there are millions of people like us who will notice the update when it comes.

Makes me think that it could be a bit further off than we're hoping.

Won't happen today, will happen with Mountain Lion if we are lucky..
if not..2 years in the cold with Mac Pro can learn something...
even if it really ..me

Considering Mountain Lion is shipping next month, they may wait but I'm hoping they don't.

No offense, but when people have been waiting a life time for a bump on the imac an 'extra month'' can seem TO LONG and also can mean 'FCK it im going somewhere else'

For the "maybe they'll sit on a computer for 3 months so they can ship it with a $30 operating system upgrade" crowd - they announced that from today forward all new Macs get a free upgrade to mountain lion.

Was never in doubt, but also implies unless we get an iMac refresh this week, we may be some time away from the next one...

and...with a Siri Button on your wheel you can now think to buy a new car..
Cook and Scott the new financial geniuses!

Is the Mac Pro a for sure update? Maybe it'll be announced following that

Apple works in mysterious ways...

But there was even stronger evidence pointing to an imminent update of the Mac Pro than the iMac. Seeing a press release before the day's over with new Mac Pros and iMacs wouldn't be the least bit surprising.
