Isn't that what Apple is doing? Making terribly good Macs obsolete by taking off parts of the macOS, so the newer macOS won't work with them? After all, macOS is the product, the main product, not the machine that runs it. True, it is free, but there aren't enough drivers for it to run on any machine. Maybe, one day Apple will be pushed to allow macOS to run on any machine.

They haven't been taking off parts, just mostly adding on new features/abilities that are AS (ARM) only. But it certainly may come across as less of the MacOS feature set works with Intel Macs with each new MacOS release that just compounded that difference.

I was not taking about the eye-candy. Only about what's needed for the base OS.
