I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. As much as I love this series I doubt it will get the one big expensive box treatment that Buffy and Sex in the City recently got. It's just not popular enough.

Well right now I'm trying to watch Battlestar Galactica Seasons 1 & 2 and then start on Seinfeld... actually... I might do Seinfeld first. I just finished ER season 3. So I've got a bit to go before I get to Angel anyway...

If they don't do a boxed set it's no big deal... I can but them all separate. But I'll give 'em a bit of time...

Do You Know Farscape

Another vote for these two shows... two of my absolute favorites (most of the rest of which I also recoomend)... :)

Cannot wait for Red Dwarf season VIII to come out... February just seems so far away...

Do you own any of the Farscape DVDs? I would like to jump ahead of the midnight syndication episodes and get the DVDs. The only problem is this show was reissued twice. That's 3 different editions. Which is the best? The first release was just individual discs. Then came the big relatively expensive box sets for each season came out. And right now there is a new set of editions being released. The newest editions split each season into 3 seprate sets. Which is best? I'm getting mixed reviews from Amazon. Some reviewers are even saying that video quality of the newest editions released this year are pretty bad.

Seinfeld? It's on televison at least twice a day. I can't imagine wanting to "get through" an entire season. I would just watch an episode whenever I was in the mood for it. Even if I owned it on DVD.
Now Battlestar I can understand. It's a continuous story with different archs. And it really grabs you. I've only seen the few episode NBC aired over this past summer.
Speaking of doing sittings of a show. I typically don't like all the hub bub surrounding New Years. I have in the past just had DVD marathons for New Years. I think the most recent was an Akira Kurosawa marathon. I'm thinking this year I just might do a TV season in one sitting for New Years. But which one? An suggestions?
It can't be monotone and depressing. Farscape or Battlestar might be interesting. Angel and Homicide are 2 of my favorite shows of all time, but they are just so... about the protagonists being beat down and there not always being a happy ending. Oh, what am I thinking? Black Adder or Red Dwarf would be fun. I think PBS actually did a marathon for each of those shows in the past. Humor? South Park. Family Guy. But Drama/Sci-Fi would really feel like it was building toward something.

I have just recently bought the complete series of Stargate SG-1, I love that show and worth every penny to me, though it is a bit pricey as its currently 8 seasons worth of sets.

If your into comedy, I recently got hooked on Arrested Development, its great if you watch it from season 1 start, to season 2(currently) end. So many inside jokes, and jokes leading up to other things, its just so hilarious, but you really have to watch them in succession, so the DVD sets are great to get.

Also Curb Your Enthusiasm is terribly funny as well (starring the co-creator of Seinfeld), I don't have HBO so I make sure to buy these whenever they come out. If you were a fan of Seinfeld, you'll see lots of similarities in this show.

OK my picks:

-House (Just Awesome)

-CSI (I have seen every single episode but when I watch the older ones from season 1 or 2 I completely blank on the secondary case. Can remember the primary clear as day but the secondary is always new to me. :p)

-Carnivale (Drags a bit but awesome, Definatly watch with the lights out)

-Six Feet Under (One of the best TV dramas EVER)

I have all the episodes, including The Peacekeeper Wars, on DVD. I got the Double DVD box sets as they came out (at the same time as the individual releases, by just taking two of the regular DVDs and wrapping them in cardboard, I think) in the UK. Each box contains two DVDs, so each of the 4 seasons is split up into 5 boxes (see attacment :)).

This is the only edition I've ever needed and I'm quite happy with it... :) but then again I don't have the best TV...

Thanks I actually live in America though so our editions where released differently. I'm going with the new "Starburst Editions". Only 1 reviewer was complaining about disc quality and his claims sound like a defective disc or he's not used to the slight pause that some times occurs with double layered discs. Especially if you try to watch a lot of them at once. Your player can just get tired.

Nowhere Man - Just saw this on Amazon. The government erases this guy from existance. And it's not such a wonderful life. Somehow his friends, coworkers, family, and loved ones are all in on it. Early UPN series back when they actually tried to make something original.
I'll second this one, along with the original Outer Limits, The Prisoner and M*A*S*H.

Repeatables

The tough part is that some shows that are great in first runs just don't make good repeats. You can love a show and get nothing out of the DVD's.

Kind of like how some foods just don't reheat well. :)

Babylon 5 repeats well.

Angel repeats well. (Buffy doesn't until the last few seasons).

I love Stargate (and you can't beat Richard Dean Anderson for eye candy), but as much as I look forward to the new episodes on Saturday nights, I just don't find myself reaching for my DVD's of the older seasons.

Atlantis is just beginning, but it looks like it will repeat well (and even more eye candy!)

I've never seen much point in purchasing half-hour comedies (unless you have a major crush on an actor). I tend to purchase if I have a major emotional investment in the characters and want to be able to "revisit" them. Though it's sometimes nice to take a leap and buy a series you've never seen (I hadn't seen Babylon 5 before buying Season 2 of it and am glad I did.)

Enjoy!!!

And I'll second that one. The Outer Limits both the new and old series' are great. You really don't need to see every episode. An if you just perfer stories about either the supernatural or time travel or aliens. The DVDs are groups together in subjects like this.

I agree with this whole heartedly. I tend to stray away from sitcoms as a whole but I have fallen in love with Scrubs. The acerbic wit of Dr. Cox is wonderful.. I almost wish they would make a DVD of just his highlights. Well worth the price although I have yet to buy them.

Scrubs was really good in seasons 1&2, but the ones after have been getting progressively far-fetched over time. I was a huge fan, and actually stopped watching in season 4, and all the previews for season 5 I've seen so far just look silly, but in a bad way.

Have love will travel

Anyone ever see Have Gun Will Travel? I almost couldn't believe that this was the title of a tv show from the 50's. Sounds cool. Anyone seen it?
