my first apple product was an iPod. But I cannot remember what model lol..

my first mac was a used mac mini G4 in late 2008. then in early 2009 I got a white macbook, now I have my 27" iMac.

2005 G5 iMac, rev B was my first Mac and my first Apple product. Soon it was joined by a Powerbook, as I rapidly realized that if I didn't want to use Windows at home any more I sure as heck wasn't going to want to use it while traveling..... A 5G iPod came into the household next, as I finally discovered what iTunes was all about and the magic of the iPod. In 2006 I tried to resist the lure of the brand-new intel-based machines, but resistance was futile and soon I had my first MacBook Pro. The first-gen Mac Pro came along next....

In January 2007 I watched the MacWorld keynote and the announcement of the iPhone. I thought, "I don't use the cell phone I've got now, why would I want one of those things?" Well, somehow Steve managed to show me and convince me of just why I would want "one of those things" and sure enough, I was in line on the Launch Day of the very first iPhone.

I'd always said that if Apple ever came out with a small, lightweight computer that was better than a netbook, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The MBA was announced, and a few days later I was in the store "just to see...." I knew I was a goner when, while looking at the thing and picking it up to heft its weight, I impulsively hugged it. Uh-oh..... One came home with me....

The Mac Mini came into the household in January 2010. Also along the way I managed to accumulate various extras such as Airport Extreme, Airport Express, etc.

The moment I saw the iPad announcement I didn't hesitate, I knew I was going to have to have one, and so on Launch Day of the WiFi-only iPad I was there at the Apple store. A few weeks later I was in line again to get the 3G version. And, yes, this past spring I was in line once again for the iPad 2 (3G). I can already tell you that I'll be in line whenever the iPad 3 comes our way....

Each year I've gotten the latest iPhone, but this one I'm sitting out because my contract isn't up until November and because while many of the new hardware features sound appealing they aren't compelling enough to me to jump for the iPhone 4S. Instead I'm going to wait for the iPhone 5..... I really use my iPad far more than I do the iPhone these days and that has made the difference.

I love my Apple devices and indeed, from the time I opened the box with that G5 iMac I knew that there is something magical going on.....

The first Apple product I owned was a Macintosh Plus.

I now use a 2010 3.33 GHz hex-core Mac Pro (office), a 2010 MacBook Air, and a 2011 Mac Mini (home).

iPod nano 1gb I think. First computer was the 1.83 CD macbook refurb. However first new was the 1.66 mac mini.

Since then about half a dozen mac pros and a macbook pro. Then about 3 or 4 used powerbook G4's. Mac pro always stays, but the laptop gets switched out with iPads, different laptops, etc. Just depends on the mood. Really haven't found a perfect second computer. Trying the air next.

Performa 550
StyleWriter II
Performa 6500 Power PC
15" Aluminum Powerbook
30 gb iPod
2010 15" MacBook Pro
iPhone 3GS
Soon to be 4S

In order:

PowerBook 520c
iBook G3 (700 Mhz)
PowerMac G4 MDD (Dual 1.25)
PowerMac G4 Cube (collected)
MacBook Pro Unibody late 2008
iMac (2008ish)
PowerMac G5 (Collected)

Then toss in the i'Stuff'

Then you'd be the winner! Of course pics or it didn't happen! ;)

I also owned an Apple II, IIe, III, Lisa, 128k Mac, 512k Mac, and uncountable towers and laptops....

In use now in the family, two Minis, three MacBook Pros, a G4 tower, a MBA, 6 iPads, a pile of iPods of all vintages, and 6 iPhones...

This does not include business purchases, as I own a development house doing Mac and iOS development with 25 employees... All running Macs of various types, iPads, iPod touches and iPhones...

Still have the original Apple I. Still have the 128k Mac. The other early machines? No. I have a fish tank made from a 512k Mac, though I bought it that way.

First Apple product I bought with my own money was a Mac IIsi which I later overclocked to 25MHz :D

:D I did exactly the same thing to mine, back in 1995!

1. Macintosh Plus, 8 MHz, 4 MB, 20MB HD
2. Macintosh IIsi, 20 MHz (O.C. to 25), 17 MB, 52MB HD
3. PowerMac 7100, 66 MHz, 88MB, 500MB HD
4. PowerMac G3 B&W, 350 MHz (O.C. to 400), 768MB, 20GB HD
5. PowerMac G4, 450 MHz, 768MB, 160GB HD
6. iMac G4, 1 GHz, 1.5GB, 80GB HD
7. MacBook Pro, 2 GHz, 2GB, 320GB HD

All great machines!

My first Mac set the tone in the most wonderful way.

A brand new PowerBook 170, purchased from the one and only Apple employee store in Cupertino, just a few miles from my home in Los Gatos.

This Laptop was configured with System 7, a 16GHz Motorola CPU, 4MB ram & 40MB hard drive. I enjoyed it for about 18 trouble free months before taking delivery of another new PowerBook.

Sadly Apple abandoned the Iconic & much loved PowerBook name, years later.

The pushback was huge, but Apple just wouldn't listen to their loyal customers.

I still believe that while sales were largely unaffected, there was a lot of brand recognition and loyalty attached to the name PowerBook.

Why kill off Steve's brilliant model name?

I only first started getting into Apple in 2008 when I walked into the first Apple store in Coconut Point (Estero, FL). I couldn't believe how amazing the products were compared to my crappy Windows PC. I went ahead and spend a pretty penny on a 27" iMac with Applecare, Photoshop CS4, and iWork in 2009.

Er, because the Intel MacBooks no longer used the PowerPC CPU that the PowerBook range was named after?

While you have fond memories of the name, the PowerPC turned from a symbol of pride to an embarrassment at Apple. Steve had to apologise for the lack of speedup and progress with the line at a number of keynotes. For a guy who was very intolerant of failure, I'm sure he was very keen to put the name firmly behind him.

I'm from the iPod-halo generation. Bought a 3G iPod, then a 12" Powerbook, then a 6gb iPod Mini, 1gb Shuffle, 17" iMac, 64gb iPod touch, 27" iMac...
Damn snowballs.

Like most people, I started off with an iPod. For me it was the iPod Mini. Two of them actually. They both crapped out at roughly the same time. Stupid non-replaceable battery
