Mine was the SLVR before I got the original iPhone.

I had the SLVR as well before. Loved it. It went through so much hell. Broke the glass screen protector off and it still looked good. I can't remember what the old Nokia phone I had before that was. It was around the 2001 time frame It was one of the ones that you could change the face plate on for other designs. I started painting my own. That's how I expressed my self before jb themes came about.

*EDIT* Found it I think.

We had the old bag phones out on the farm. My deaf grandpa could at least hear it ring and hear the person on the other end.

My favorite dumbphone was the Motorola Startac. Awesome phone ahead of it's time. Mine died in the rain, riding my motorbike.

Yeah. I think if I were Motorola, I would consider doing a StarTAC 2. Such a great design.

the best damn phone before iphone

believe it or not... after i stopped using a cell phone (around 2002)... i told myself i'd never get a phone again until they merge the functions of a PDA, the phone, and make the web usable on the phone

fast forward to today... now a cellphone user again. What brought me back? iphone :)

Motorola PEBL. It was a sleek design, the material and shape felt good in your hand, it was very small but easy to hold, and the unique springloaded opening mechanism was very cool.

The OP's phone is 2 advanced + color, here is my old favorite mate which still is in working condition!

YES. A million times yes.

All you people with color screens, GET OUT. A color screen is pretty damn "smart," thank you very much. You don't belong here. There were a lot of us who didn't fall for such shenanigans.

Touché. Did it have that classic Nokia ring?

:D Yes, it did +34 extra more (for ringtones more is always better!), but I think they have increased the tempo of the original ring over the years! Beside that, it had profiles for dif. sound modes (our iPhones still don't do that!) it was one of the first with an internal antenna and is basically indestructible! The screen was a graphical LCD!

Hey! Mine didn't even have a screen! Just a primitive red alphanumeric display! Oh wait, does red count as color?

I remember the first time I saw a color screen on a phone. Kinda blew my mind. I also remember being perplexed by the word "internet" in my phone's user guide. I didn't quite understand how to connect the internet that I had experienced a few times on my PC to a device with Game Boy graphics... Plus, I was scared ****less of getting charged out the *** for even trying to connect to the internet. XD

Then there was the first time I sent a text message. It read, "Happy Cinco De Mayo!" It was the fifth of may, 2002. That was the only one I sent before I got a good lecture on text charges. If I remember right, texts were 5-15 cents at the time?

Hm... am I old yet?

uff isn't that the V60 or something (old phones had 2 many numbers in the model)? I think so, I remember I had it (not sure if is this exact one) in HS and when you pressed the side button it did voice recognition for your own voice recording of the contacts names and found it so geeky cool since it worked pretty good  i broke the antenna on mine and it was a sad day for me....

I'll be damned if I remember what it was but for a couple years I had a brick phone that could get a signal almost ANYWHERE.

SE W910i. I still use it when I don't want to bring around my iPhone or need an unlocked phone to use a local sim while travelling.

A more solid phone than the Ericsson SH888 has never existed. Dropped it more often than I can remember and used it as a hammer, bottle opener, wrench and occasionally I used it to speak on it.

Hm... for some reason that image induced certain flash backs...

Something about some sort of Medina that may or may not have been funky cold... Then there were the big butts and some chick named Macarena.

I had a Motorolla Nextel i860 just before my first iPhone.

I hacked it in ways that according to the Nextel people, were not possible, using a USB cable that I bought on eBay, and a computer program called iDEN. iDEN was Windows only, so I used it under Virtual PC, on my PowerBook. Boy was that SLOW!!!

It wasn't really hacking so much, as adding custom graphics, backgrounds, ringtones, etc.

Other people that had the phone would ask me how I got that stuff on there. Their reactions were even more illogical than some of the antijailbreakers that make their way around here! 
