I forgot, I'd also ban all those "you just won a free iphone/ipod/laptop" scam ads....as well as those annoying spam websites that say you won some product...yeah right!

I still see them all the time! Did CA only ban gas ones or something?

They're very much alive here in California; it's just that in certain areas they are banned. If you were to ask me which areas those are, I'd reply by saying I have no idea.

My next door neighbour is a gardener and he's always firing up his dirt blower. And it just so happens he has the loudest one on the market with no sound insulation. :(

As I'm writing this, there's a Police helicopter flying over making endless circles.

Even though it's been said before, I'll say it again.

I'd ban banning things.

Really. If someone wants to smoke, fine, not that I agree with it, but they can pay with their money to kill themselves, I don't care. Secondhand smoke? Just leave. Just go away. Don't let it affect you, because it doesn't have to.

SUVs? Well you got the money for the gas, doesn't bother me. Yeah, I'll complain about it till my teeth bleed, but I'll still recognize their right to burn their money away in their gas tanks. Not my problem.

I got increasingly more angry as I read the posts in this thread. That could have been from me misinterpreting the posts that were clearly not sarcastic. If I'm wrong about everyone being pretty much IMO a totalitarian jerk, then I apologize, because I look pretty damn stupid for getting angry.

People just need to learn how to live with people, no matter how annoying they are. To me, extremely religious people who try and convert and "save" everyone (the ones who think Earth in 6,000 years old and pi=3) are the most annoying and dangerous people on the planet. But I live with them, because where I live, its America, and people can think whatever the hell they want. Not my problem. Their belief that pi=3 doesn't affect my thinking that pi=3.1415... and that the Earth is about 4 billion years old.

Again, if I misinterpreted the thread, then I apologize for looking like a jerk.

People are just listing things that annoy them, and would make them happier.

Of course, We do have to live with these things still, these bans probably aren't ever going to come to see the light of day.

1) Smoking in public - especially near kids and at bus stops

2) Jehovah's Witnesses knocking on door at 7 am Saturday morning to hand out their pamphlets - I am not for banning religion just banning people from trying to shove it down my throat.

3) Way too tight clothes on women , too loose clothes on men.

4) Airbrushing commercials or adult entertainment magazines - hehehe

5) Teenagers having kids before they finish high school.

What about the environment? It's not always about money. If an SUV was necessary for what their owners required them for (ie: hauling large things, driving in rough terrain, etc), and if there was no environmental penalty over a smaller car that could be used to buy groceries and pick up the kids, then I wouldn't care that SUV owners are just burning their money.

Since the environmental impact does exist, I don't mind the people here who have complained about SUV drivers who really don't need an SUV, which is around 95% of people, as far as I can tell.

I began this thread so that you can 'ban' something that annoys you.

Remember, you're a mayor of your town or wherever you live, not a totalitarian dictator of a country.

The overbreeding of humans which is killing the planet ? that way we wouldn't have to bother about all this environmental greek eco crap which is going to suck the joy out of life...

Ooops, Sorry got a little real there for a moment!!..forget that...what about..

I'd ban those freaking pop up ads that smother entire web pages - especially the noisy ones...

I'd ban the use of elevators within twelve miles of the nearest pumpkin patch. I'd do it purely for the publicity.
That's OK with me. When I go to the pumpkin patch, I always take the stairs.

IIRC, the leafblower law prohibits the use of gas-powered models within a certain distance of residences.

Snoring is another noise problem. Perhaps I'll ban that. We'll install listening devices in everyone's homes. Then police can break down people's doors at 3am and lock them up for disturbing the peace. Of course, they might then snore in their jail cells and that will disturb the other criminals. So never mind the ban on snoring. ;)

1) Democracy. It clearly doesn't work, I mean look at where we're at today!
2) Fascism, see 1)
3) Whistling. Most. Innane. Habit. EVER.
4) Smoking. (I'd raise the age at which you can buy cigarettes by one year every year. Wont be long till it's eradicated)
5) Cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off. EAT A ****ING STEAK BITCH!
6) Political correctness
7) Lawyers.
8) People bidding against me on eBay
9) The attitudes of 4x4 drivers (or any unnecessarily large penile extension vehicle).
10) Call centers.
11) Cat macros
12) People who say "did you know Hitler was a vegetarian" in argument, like it's supposed to prove something.
13) Creationism museums/zoos/propaganda.
14) Scientology
15) Harry ****ing Potter.
16) People who refuse to admit that they would filter/lane split if they were on a motorbike too. Of course you would! You are clearly jealous. (It's legal in the UK, shut up at the back)

God that was cathartic :D

i would ban those too...they also cause viruses in windows pcs. they appear too much on radio and tv now.

also, ban beer ads on sporting events. we're not all drunken men.

and yes, ban soda.

Social Stereotypes! They annoy the hell out of me.

Hm....just chavs mainly. But do away with the whole stereotyping, the world was a happier place when it didn't exist to the extent it does today.
