I know :(

I may seem like I'm bitching but honestly, I absolutely love my iPhone 4. I still think I make some valid comments.

Also I really wish I could record something with the mic and use it for an alarm or even a ring tone. I want to yell at myself in the morning "WAKE THE **** UP ALREADY!!!"

Oh that's another good one...

How about the ability to record a phone call your on, would there be any legal problems with adding a feature like that, it would be great for when someone is giving you a verbal lists of tasks or instructions...

I would like the ability to lock a folder.

Example - If I'm going to let someone else use my phone and I don't want to worry about them going through my stuff, I could put my phone, messages, and Facebook (etc) in a folder and lock it. While the folder is locked, you must enter your passcode to view new or old text messages, facebook notifications, etc.

I think Apple are nearly there software wise - I am very happy except the tabs on safari thing for ipad (im a big tab user)

I have never seen the Android system - what kind of features are we currently missing that are valuable???

Best idea in the thread so far... good job. I use a finance app and some other stuff that I would rather people not be able to look at.

You just reminded me of my pet hate for the ipad (doesnt concern me much for my iphone as it is used only by me however friends love playing with my ipad)

Email - any bugger can read my email, they have parental locks for safari etc but nothing for my personal email - BIG FAIL

I'll take this one step further. Let us chose our own images for all of the icons in the OS... any icon. This way we can design our own icons on our computer and use them in our phone. And another step further, let us create icon templates that we can share with each other. Just add this feature to folder icons as well.

I agree this is too open for Apple. I notice when dropping apps on another it automatically gives the folder a name from the apps category i.e. lifestyle, games, utilities etc

Apple should make a few generic icons for each category and we could use them (maybe three diff icons for each category incase we have more then one folder for games etc) or ideally they allow us to use more then 12 to a folder

In iTunes when selecting apps to sync - have ipad, iphone and hybrid apps in seperate lists. Im sick of scrolling thru my tons of ipad apps looking for iphone apps and vice versa

i wonder if they could just tie the folders lock in with the already usable passcode lock simply add a lock/unlock icon when the folder is opened near the X at the end of the text and then it requires what ever passcode you set for the lockscreen even better you could choose in the passcode section of the settings to set it as "Folders lock Only"

I'd Like to see the faces algorythm(sp?) introduced on the phone itself without the need for iphoto

when i'm typing someone's name in the field to send a text, why the **** on earth do i get emails? get rid of that ****, i went to the SMS app to send a text, not write an email.

either give me the option to disable it, or remove it completely.

maybe when you open an appilcation from a folder and then go back to the home screen the folder is closed instead of remaining open.

please add favorite double click back

the most used button sequence is gone. shows the developers really don't ask anyone what they think. just plow ahead and remove a real timesaver and a feature that a lot of us use all the time. would rather not have all this extra stuff - need to get to phone numbers QUICKLY!! Apple, its a PHONE right? So can we get to phone #'s QUICKLY?? Or do i need to know the multitasking info while driving my car and trying to dial home?? ITS STILL a PHONE!!!

I would love to have a 'Mark as Read' function in Mail. That would be a great way to just accept a bunch of email at one point.

Even if it was a simple closed off file system i.e. user, docs folder, pic folder that was accessed on desktop instead of iTunes then i would be happy

Agreed - heck, just upload access from the browser to the photo folder would make a huge difference.

Phazer

- Week view in calendar, when in landscape mode
- "open behind current window" for safari links

Weather to work like calendar would be sweet.

Assigning your own picture to folders (or at least have a few generic ones to choose from).

Password-protected folders.

Weather to work like the calendar... It's not always sunny and 73.

Me too! Has bugged me since the beginning :) Wouldn't mind some stabilization with the video camera if that's even possible with software upgrade.

My shortlist

- Single Tap and Hold on Home Button for Favorites
- Fix Safari sensitivity
- ADD spell check to Mobile Safari
...

Missing Favourites seems to have created enough "disturbance in the force", that hopefully we will see it re-instated.

Spell-check for Mobile Safari would be very welcome, and IMHO entirely feasible, given it's availability elsewhere in editable text fields.

What do you mean by 'Safari sensitivity'?

  • Widgets
  • Useful Lock Screen
  • Kill all running apps
  • Print over network (for iPad too)
  • iPad Support

your first 2 points are considered 'major' additions, so i doubt that will happen in 4.1, maybe 5.0

kill all sounds good.

iPad support is coming in fall as already stated by Apple.
