You are right OP, Lmao. I think there is truth to that.

I personally ordered the 5.5. inch plus 128 gigs. I have no regret in doing so either. So with that said. I think you nailed him and rightfully so.

At my office people readily admitted they were hating because they were trying to justify their 4.7 inch phones. So I get that much of the size criticism is not warranted and people feel the need to justify their own purchasing decisions. I have an iPhone Plus and couldnt be happier with it.

Exactly!

Its clearly immature passive attacks and they know it.

But the only defense mechanism is to fight fire with fire.

OP, you need to get to a point where you don't need everyone around you to affirm your opinions and likes/dislikes. This is really only an issue because you are insecure.

So I felt this surge of irritation so I hit back with the totally unexpected: "CANT AFFORD THE BIG BOY PHONE HUH? HAHAHA" (With that fake, old man from the 80s laugh)

It was the perfect level of basal ignorance to combat his.

It hits them in two spots and if you want to have the last laugh this season thats how cheap you gotta go.

Considering the other guy went home happy and you still are steaming over such a non-situation means that he's the one who got the last laugh.

[Note: "Last Laugh" is an expression and does not indicate that something funny was actually said]

OP, I don't doubt you at all. I know the types. But the way you described the situation DOES sound pretty petty. :p Some things don't translate well over he internet. Funny stuff though. I would've liked to see the reaction on the guy's face.

Wait... This guy was in the main phone line - was he getting an iPhone?

Who's to say he didn't get the 128gb 6 -- the same price as my 64gb 6+

I don't see how what the guy can afford is relevant in this case. If the guy was being obviously snarky toward you that's one thing but if he was making an odd-hand comment about the size of the phone that is, in reality, what the vast majority of us had to do internally --- is the 6+ too big or is it just right. Some people straight don't like big phones. I don't see why his comment was so offensive.

The the problem is the big iPhone was way better than anyone couldve predicted based on the keynote. It has the people with smaller iPhones pressed.

You werent there. Clearly the tone was the issue not what was being said. The OP made that clear in his initial post. Sometimes how you do something is more important than what you do.

Oh yes you can!

Sometimes it's the only option!

Have a match of whoever gets rustled first loses.

No, it really can't. I promise you that your childish comment didn't make the guy go home and rethink his life. You essentially gained nothing while escalating a pointless altercation.

Do that with the wrong person and you could get hurt or worse. It's not worth it for a stupid squabble like this. Be the bigger person.

Yep. Well said. However if the guy was a jerk, I probably wouldve reacted the same way. So yeah I can be a jerk around other jerks.

But it was probably bigger for him. Whereas you commented with something totally unrelated. You could have just started a convo with him instead.

You're right, I wasn't there but I still don't see why some d-bag comment was enough to cause someone to retaliate with their own comment to the escalation stated here. If I got upset every time someone made a comment I didn't like I would be a total hermit with no internet connection because getting online means interacting with people.

Come on people clearly the OPs testicles haven't dropped yet or he wouldn't have found the need to be so immature.

To what end and for what benefit? Certainly you *can* do that but for what? Again, all you do is risk a more serious altercation. There is no meaningful upside to that kind of behavior. Learn to ignore jerks.

You're making a big deal out of nothing. Not everyone is going to like the 6+ I know I don't, so you're gonna go against me because I comment that I don't like the 6+because I think it's too big? I don't get why you feel that everyone must agree with you otherwise they'll get a ridiculous comment from you about how "manly" someone is based on what size phone they get. What is this world coming to? I mean really. At the end of the day, it's a PHONE. It does what you need it to, call, text, internet, etc. Why does it matter to you whether or not other people like the 6+ or not? It's not of your business. People have opinions and they have the right to speak them. After all, this is a free country.

OP must have a small D.

Yes, people can't afford $100 more for your "big boy phone". Get a life if that really makes you feel more superior.
