I am currently using 90gb of my 256 phone so I stuck with 256. Kind of wish I had gone with 512 but I think I will be alright.

I'm too lazy to edit my photo's so no raw for me. I think 256G is fine considering I'm only using 83G of it with 11G of it from photo's.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro with 128 GB and it's not filled. I've never had to free up space. If 512 GB isn't enough for you, get more storage but don't assume everyone needs more.
I have a 64GB 12 mini that, after 2 years, is only just reaching the limit of making me free up some space so I feel very comfortable with going for 128GB on the new one (Pro Max). Perhaps it differs if people don't really use anything else but their phone a lot (I know if I go on a flight or whatever I put stuff on my iPad instead).

Are the people who are regretting their purchase already here?? Pre-orders have only been open for 2 hours, my good gawd.

I have had the 256 for quite some time and just order 14PM 256gb, I have a little over 100GB left of local storage along with 2TB of iCloud storage. Granted I do also shoot with my mirrorless camera, but mostly photos very rarely video because video is so much easier on the iPhone.

I think your post should explain more, the full 48mp is for the proRAW and how many people nonstop only shoot proRAW photos I enjoy editing and I don't shoot in proRAW every single photo that imo is just insane. There are times I take pictures of quick documents, or reminders of things, and I do not need those in full 48mp glory lol. If the iPhone bumped it up to 8k recording of even if it was like 6k or something and downsampled to 4k maybe just maybe a minimum of 512.

IMO shooting in any RAW format isn't really meant to just always keep on your device unless you truly believe you may come back to it for further edits later, and if that is even a possibility then I would always recommend to offload to another drive or cloud or something. I agree with what most do, take you current device and see how much is currently being used and use that as the deciding factor.

The times I've experimented with doing RAW photos, I have basically hooked it up to my iCloud Drive as a workflow so that they are stored there where I have 2TB, rather than worry about them filling my phone. Works fine and any similar service probably works similarly.

Yep... I can see you're coughing, choking on the water. It's coming up over your head now.... sad. Tried to warn ya... Lifeguard phill85 is out here trying to save you but if you mustn't be saved... 🤷‍♂️
I think you have some problems. 🤔

I ordered the gold 14 promax this morning with 1 TB of storage. I am ready. I read where some of y’all don’t like ProRAW, well that’s OK I guess I use it exclusively. I think that’s the only way you’re going to get the full 48 megapixel resolution is with ProRAW. I think JPEG‘s are going to be reduced or kept around the 12 megapixel size. So if you’re not using pro wall, I’m sorry but you will not get the best images until
You do.

This guy gets it! Winner:apple::apple::apple:

This isn't true for all - it depends on the user - for me, i've been stuck at home working and avoiding covid since 2020 so my 1TB iPhone 13 Pro Max only has 210 GB used... so this year, i went down to 512GB. Don't expect to travel and take pics til this whole covid thing is over, so the smaller size is fine.

Well... hard to go wrong with 512GB... and the only reason it wasn't used is that we had a once in 100-year pandemic! I think most people are safe from this scenario!

Changed my mind. I am actually going to crack this open and replace my 256GB storage with my own 32GB chip. Want to streamline the whole thing and really keep it slim.

Embrace low storage life people dont fall for Phills tricks.

Hey I can only try to warn… I’ve personally taken over 100 gigabytes of photos and videos in a single day on a 13 pro. I won’t be regretting my purchase this morning… sounds like others may be. Ymmv
So maybe that is a good idea for your particular use case, but not everyone else? You obviously create much more media so the introduction a 48 megapixel sensor would naturally throw up warning signs for you...

Lol guys I mean obviously there's some humor here... a little tongue-in-cheek... My main point is I recommend getting as much storage as you can afford within your budget. Personally that was 1TB here, for others that's 256. I definitely do not endorse the 128GB model... that's like the 8/8/256 M2 MacBook air... literally shouldn't exist... immediate memory pressure/storage full posts on macrumors after that kind of a mistake:eek:
