Whats a good time to head to the Apple Store on the 11th??

I'm still trying to guess when I need to get in line for this thing. It makes all the difference when it comes to taking vacation to do so.

If I need to get there in the morning to wait all day -- then it's a whole day.

If I need to show up 4 or 5 hours ahead of launch, then I can take a half day and go from work to the store right after lunch.

I am taking a day off from school, I have just two classes that day, one I have a test in but the professor said I can take that test on Thursday in the other section he teaches. The other I have a bunch of friends that can fill me in.
 
whoever is at the line on fri.. let's all post how many ppl and what time and what not... I will as well..

Depends on which one of the 18 models you want. Figure 16GB WiFi in White first to go.

Since Apple will sell the iPad 2 at 5 PM will other retailers do the same, like Wal-Mart and Best Buy?

Yeah.. last year NO ONE pre-ordered.. I know someone that waited in a short line and bought 2 iPads last year. Then after it was released, people went crazy and bought them up! This year, everyone will want a new one.

I was at an Apple store while waiting for dinner reservations.. I saw this guy buy an iPad.. he looked like he was going to jizz his pants cause he was so excited. Imagine that kind of excitement for the iPad 2. I would say, go as early as your job will permit.

Are you kidding me? Thursday night is way too early. I will go to the closest apple store in the morning on Friday. I live in New York, and I am pretty sure they have enough 16G Wifi models for everyone in their 5th Ave store. If they run out of stock there, I cannot think of elsewhere where you can get one.:rolleyes:
 
If you're in Indiana, I'd say 08:00AM on 3/12. I'm not saying that because I'll be camped out if front of the store like iJustin. Or that I'm going to roadtrip just to be one of the proud few first owners of the new iPad. So Indiana people, 08:00AM on 3/12. :D

I think they 16 GB WiFi model will be the most popular and probably the one to sell out first. I don't want that one but I bet I am right.
