Don't have one but it would be cool with an iPad saying " Steve Jobs can blow me" or "I <3 Android". 
Honestly I did not put one on mine, but man, if I could do it now, I would put
"iPAD ASIA TOUR 2011" as mine with all the locations my iPad visited.

I haven't ordered mine yet, but I'm not planing to engrave it for the sole reason of not hurting the resell value of the device.
But if I was sure that I won't be reselling it, then I would probably engrave:
"FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid"
" 5 - 0 "
People who knows what El Clasico is, will know what I'm talking about

Mine says, "I just decreased the resale value of my iPad by 50% with this stupid laser engraved message".
What insurance do you use? I want to insure mine because I am pretty sure I am going to drop.
I also read it can't be returned if it has a problem, but I mean if the person likes it then its fine. Plus its insured so he could happen to "lose it," on launch day. Of course accidentally so their is no insurance fraud.
Change might to it WILL and also cut down on the number of people willing to buy it (depending on what's engraved you could extremely limit)?
Continuous warnings about its effects on the resale value have little effect on those like me that never intend to resell it. When I buy an Apple product, I keep it. There's always another family member somewhere who'd love a hand-me-down.
Does a family member really want an iPad engraved with some other dude's name?
If someone gave me a hand-me-down 3 year old iPad with their name etched into the back, I'd be embarrassed for anyone else to see it, less they think I stole it or something.
Engraving is a horrible idea. Like tattoos.
Not a fan of anything that's permanent.
I disagree on the resell value issue. If you sell it online or to someone you'll never see, you don't have to tell them it is on there and I don't think it would be something they would initially be concerned about since you can slap a cover over it.
