I want to be able to CHOOSE my carrier of choice.

Isn't choice is what Apple is all about, anyway?

-joedy

With AT&T I'd have to go outside to make a call. With T-Mobile I get a full signal in the basement.

Also, I don't talk on the phone enough or want cellular data enough to pay for anything beyond my simple pre-paid phone.

Me and my gf are stuck with tmobile till june or july of this yr. That's the only thing that has stopped me from getting a iphone. That's why I have the touch now and probably will end up getting the iphone as well, once our contract ends. Don't mind having 2 devices since I can use the iphone for extra stuff my touch can't hold.

AT&T

If it were on Verizon I would have picked it up already, but thats CDMA. If the rumors about the japan release are true, then it could be a possibility that we might see it on Verizon eventually(maybe even this year).

a lot of people state AT&T as a reason. Are we talking the plan choice offered? Reception? I find it hard to believe that the reception for SO many people is THAT bad. I had AT&T/Cingular about 4 years ago for quite some time, and had ZERO reception problems in the Chicago area. It just seems kind of odd that so many people would bag on them for that. And, all of my customer service issues with them were always handled promptly. I guess it's different strokes for different folks, eh?

Lack of true push imap email (after scanning 3 pages of posts, I can't believe I'm the only one who has this reason????)

Seconded.

Third. I was in Orlando a week ago (for the bowl games) and it seemed as if the cell towers were shot down. Every phone call didn't go through. Voicemail was corrupted, the whole bit. I'm on AT&T, but my jolly friend had a phone on Verizon, and it worked beautifully.:apple:

AT&T!

Gosh I wish Apple would have chosen Verizon. That would make my life a lot easier :p

I believe Verizon WAS Apple's first choice of carriers, but Verizon shot them down. They did not want that phone on their service.....I wonder if they regret it now. But that is why they now have the Voyager......
