You need to pay $99 a year to gain developer access. And be aware that you will have to deal with lots of bugs and other issues. Many apps won't work or will crash frequently. That's all just part of being a developer and using beta software.

You can also wait until the end of this month and sign up for the public beta program. They get access later than developers but it's free. Keep in mind you will still have to deal with frequent crashes, bugs, battery drain, non-working apps and other issues that are just part of a beta.

And remember that "bugs and other issues" sometimes includes bricking your device. I don't know if Apple has changed their policies since I was in the program, but I bricked a couple of devices and they told me I was SOL.

Went to install beta profile for my iPad and all downloads are now missing? My Mac, watch, phone are up to date. Tv haven’t tried, but it’s empty now to install the new profile...
Did your watch update stall after your phone said it was complete? My Watch is stuck, it's a Series 3.

You are saying that you had a beta update that completely made your device permanently inoperable and then another one that did the same thing essentially to another device?

Weird, I felt that being able to clear the Screen Time usage was an important privacy feature. Is there still an option to do this?

Any idea when we can expect the PB? Looking to test ios 12 on my 7 (waiting until the fall to install in my X).

As early as tomorrow, last late as the end of the month. If it does come tomorrow I think I'll hold off. I don't like that list of issues--broken weather widget and screen effects on older devices.

The colors for the messages “bubbles” has changed slightly as well. iMessage the Blue appears a slightly different shade as well as the SMS green a shade darker.

Happened to me on first beta, one hard reset after and it went fine, but it's like coin flip every time I update my watch. The most annoying and nerve-racking apple device update ever.

The color for the texts and imessages has changed. The blues are darker and the greens too

Interesting. I’d like to see this but don’t really care to install the beta on my X just yet. The GPS bug would be a killer.

Here you go!

Is vibration when unlocking new on beta 2? Does anyone know how to disable it? This is on iPhone 6S.

Interesting, you’re right I do. But that never changed the color of the texts before hand. It always stayed the same green and blue.
Yea I honestly don’t think it did that before either. It used to only change the text links to go back within an app to a darker blue. But I don’t recall the bubbles.

Yeah same here, so I was surprised to see the change. Honestly the darker blue with the contrast on looks great. The darker green is interesting to say the least.

It's nice to see Text Messages (SMSs) are going thru in this beta. It was huge problem in beta 1. I also noticed UI and fonts are visible bit better in this beta.

Have iMessages (and texts) been darker at the bottom? Meaning the iMessages I sent on the screen slowly deepen in color (more blue at the very bottom).

If you are getting the "Update Apple ID Phone Number" notification and it locks your settings app, do the following...

Close the settings app from the app switcher. Then go back into settings and turn off iMessage and FaceTime. Now, go into your Apple ID in the settings app, then password and security, and then edit trusted number. Just press add number and put your current one. You should get a text code, and because of iOS 12, it should auto fill the code for you. Then you just accept it and the message will go away. Then you can turn iMessage and facetime back on. That’s what worked for me!
