I’ve been loading public betas of iOS for three of four generations. This is the first time I’ve had major problems. After loading public beta 1 I had to restore both my iPhone 7 and my 11inch iPad Pro as new machines. Perhaps it was a blessing in the long run. I jumped back in with public beta 4 and I’ve had remarkably few problems since then.

Yes the mail app is a bit of a mess but nothing that makes it unusable. I will admit my iPhone 7 is used mostly as the device that updates my Apple Watch and my iPad is used mostly for writing projects, but still no real problems with either on of them.
 
Okay so I installed the iPadOS Public beta last week. It is quite buggy, springboard restarts, apps crashing, text marker repositioning itself etc. However, it doesn’t happen as often as to make it unusable. So I long for the stable release but I needed iOS 13 on my iPad because of the desktop browser Safari (it is truly game-changing and awesome) and the new app expose and multi-window support. Sadly, the latter doesn’t seem to work with more than just a few first-party apps. Can someone tell me if it is possible to have two Pages documents open side-by-side yet? Or Word for that matter? It was demoed at WWDC but doesn’t seem to be working at the moment. I want to run stable iOS 13 when it is released. Should I stay away from iOS 13.1 beta if I wish to do so?

Do you have your lights grouped yet? For example, my “Den Overhead” light actually has 3 bulbs on one fixture. Grouping allows me to control with one tap. Maybe some of your lights do this. Hope this can help you!

I have the ones grouped in groups but I have 30 lights. Still doesn't help with choosing which to put into control center or scenes. I have 50 scenes.

Most developers at my workplace seem to use light mode.

There is little evidence to support that notion. It's probably true if you have poor external lighting, like working at night or with the blinds drawn. But you mostly shouldn't be working in a low-light environment.
 
Anyone else lose their quick select users on the share sheet? I just get a blank space on 13.1 now.

We have one, everyone else has dark mode on.
 
I feel apples dark mode is too black. I would of liked a dark blackish gray you see on some apps. The interface feels a bit cheap with dark mode imo. The white looks polished. The black is just a half ass way of dark mode imo.

No seriously it's the way your eyes are working. it looks un-natural as you are used to it being white, for years........ But no all of a sudden you have to accept something dark...

It's almost if not the same as other OS dark modes.

I mean I still like it more than white but apple knows dark themes they just haven't done it right imo. Their stocks app with the dark grey and black looks nice(even though the black is just pitch black) im more into that dark grey look. They made the notes app look real nice though I cant complain about that. rest doesn't look great.

he said developers "normally" prefer light on dark. He didn't say HE preferred it.

The rest of your post is a straw man. I never said quora makes purchasing decisions. I cited it because it concisely summarizes the science about which is easier on the eyes, which disputes his other "factual" statement.
 
This seems to have wiped my files in iCloud Drive’s ‘Documents and Desktop’ as well as files within iCloud containers for other Apps, including Apple’s (eg. Numbers, Pages, etc).

The folders are now all empty. Just great.... :-/

I think that’s subjective. None of us use our phones the same way nor use the same apps. There’s things I do on my iPad that don’t even cross my mind on my iPhone and vice versa. I install apps that I use and remove things I don’t open for weeks. It baffles people that I have have 512GB but using only 70GB.

<shrug> It's a beta and you weren't running it on a production device, so what's the big deal? The data wasn't important or you would have had it backed up, right?

It’s synced this onto my PRODUCTION, NON-BETA devices. But thanks for your valuable, intelligent input.

And, I’m a developer using the betas for upcoming versions of my Apps, not just some random installing the beta for fun. Personally, I preferred it when there were NO public betas - it feels like they're more rushed these days.

I know it sucks to have this happen, but… probably best to put a test-only iCloud account on developer devices. There were several reports of this happening in the 13.0 betas.
 
Just an FYI and cross posted - Installed iOS 13.1 PB and woke up this a.m. to watchOS version 5.3.1 update. Not clear yet if this addresses the battery drain issue.
