Apple today seeded the seventh betas of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 to developers for testing purposes, updating and refining the features included in the software.

As the beta testing period progresses, changes get smaller and less notable, but the seventh beta still has a few new features that are worth mentioning, such as dark mode options for some wallpapers. We've listed what's new in the seventh beta of iOS 14 below.

- Dark Mode Rainbow Wallpapers - The existing rainbow stripe wallpaper options now feature Dark Mode settings as well as standard light mode settings. You can't select the darker wallpaper by default, though, and it only activates when Dark Mode is on.

- Tweaked App Library Categories - Apple has changed the categories in the App Library. Options now include Social, Utilities, Productivity & Finance, Information & Reading, Creativity, Other, Health & Fitness, Shopping & Food, Entertainment, Travel, Games, Arcade, and Education.

- AirPods Banner - When connecting AirPods or AirPods Pro to an iPhone or iPad in beta 6, there was an error that caused incorrect text to be displayed. That appears to be fixed in beta 7.

Know of any other changes in ‌‌iOS 14‌‌ beta 7 that we didn't list here? Let us know in the comments and we'll add them.

Maybe it was just me, but I hope Amazon Prime Video is functioning properly again. It was working under Beta 5, but not Beta 6.

EDIT: Prime Video is working under Beta 7, at least for me.

Well let's see.

Sad that rainbow wallpapers is a highlight here. and that is what we have.

Great to see that Apple is updating the App Library with new categories and shuffling things around. Wouldn't it just be easier to allow the user to name the category AND decide which apps go in each category? Maybe in iOS 15.

I'm happy Apple finally gave the rainbow wallpapers a dark mode option. I do wish they would just let us set a wallpaper for light mode and a wallpaper for dark mode on our own though.

Also, "Productivity & Finance" is a bit of a weird merging of categories imo.

I like the App Library. I can understand the complexities of the user customizing it. I'd prefer the search to be the default display and the folders as a secondary view.

Perhaps they will allow the developer to give the user the option of what category? Sort of how some devs can allow you to change the icon.

For example: My BMW Connected App is in the travel category. I can sort of see why, automobile and it allows you to set destinations from the app. Id rather it in the utilities category

Apple Watch App is in "Utilities" but watchsmith (an Apple Watch app) is in the productivity and finance category.

Wallet is in Utilities, would finance be a better option?

You won't make everyone happy, I can sort it as it is

I just want them to bring back wallpapers to Shortcuts. Apple has a massive development team. They coded the wallpaper shortcut rule! Everyone always goes it was a security risk that could brick the phone. Yes it was because it was coded poorly by Apple! Literally it just had to validate the wallpaper file before applying you know like how it does manually. I can’t manually set a zip file as my wallpaper see the code is already there. Been waiting for over a year at this point for someone to fix something so simple.
