Had this discussion with somebody many posts ago, so what amount of the phone purchase price should I
consider included as the upgrade pricing?

And, how often should I apply that amount to my initial purchase price of the iPhone?

My 4S started at iOS 6 (Don't remember exactly, could have been 5)

Since then I got 7, 8 and iOS 9, which I didn't pay ANYTHING for.

Big business isn't anything like a 1:1 sell, it goes far beyond that. Loss leaders, free software and costly retail outlets are all part of the grander strategy called "buy our phones".

Sure you may be rocking your 4S still, but from sales that evidently isn't the case for everyone.

Just downloaded and installed the beta but after the restart I'm still on 9.2.1 with no updates available - anyone else?

I forgot to mention, iBooks using iCloud Drive to sync pdfs/epubs/ibooks not from the iBooks Store, is also available to iBooks on the OS X 10.11.4 beta.

Oh this is just what I wanted. Thank you very much for the information! Can't wait to try it once the public beta comes out.

Another feature...

OMG What a joke about Night Shift. After all these years of denying apps with the same code. They should've had this in iOS 7. I guess it takes 3 years for the new Apple to believe customers. I think Steve would've had this in in iOS 7 because he was really into making the device an extension of our lives with as little negative physiological impact as possible. He really had a vision of health in mind for iOS.

What stopped him then between iOS 1 to 6? Your comment is ridiculous.

Still adding crap we don't need but not getting rid of crap that we don't use. When is someone Apple going to wake up from their drunken party and smell the coffee.

Go away

Apple please give me on/off in settings for new features. Not that I do not like them, just like not all of them piled on at once. Please!

I believe most of them already do.

I forgot to add, and set to off. One other said the same thing. You are correct.

A lot of them aren't enabled by default while some are. For those that are it's likely usually to help with discoverabilty and the benefits of the feature.

Agreed - I'm just amazed that Tim Cook didn't call you to get the definitive list of apps that they should include. You know, something along the lines of "Hi it's Tim here from Apple. We just don't know what we're doing and you obviously do, and we'd like to only include the apps that you personally approve of and screw everyone else."

You are in the very small minority on this. Apple has to think about ALL of its users.
So what you are saying is that "changing wallpaper" is among the most often used options? If true, then I would probablky have to add some meme telling how much I do not want to live on this planet...

But on the update itself: I think nightshift is a good start, but I would love to see a realy realy realy dark theme (as much black as possible) even though that would probably lead to many more people complaining about led bleeding, it would be awesome for nighttime use (without making you blind for the next minute)

Given the general population and the majority that represent Apple users why would that be so surprising?

Really? Oh please tell us what amazing earth shattering things you do on YOUR iOS device then. You people are beyond ridiculous on MR at times. You don't want to live on this planet anymore because people like to change their wallpaper? Give me a break.

Exactly - I'm sure for most people, most little things in an OS are no big deal at all. But collectively they can add up to a lot, even if you don't use a lot of stuff.

Like the switch from line graphs to bar graphs I was talking about earlier - I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't notice, but its a little thing I'm glad to see.

I wonder if apple will finally sort out the issue, with the notification for invitee's responses, in this new release?
This has been an ongoing issue which I have reported to them several times..
