Here's my new one... original image thanx to the duke man. Edited by moi. My desktop is messy as (I usually have nothing on it). I've just finished an assignment, so I'll be cleaning up soon... if I get around to it... :)

Gotta love the old "maya for mac os x.sit" type files you find that have fallen off the back of the Internet and fell off straight onto your HD! ;)

It looks dodgy, but why do I get the feeling it's not? You don't strike me as a pirate, Ensign...?

Here's happy news

The first flat panel that came with my iMac had a horrible color shift - Something that was dark gray at the top was nearly white at the bottom. It also had one dead pixel.

Apple replaced it with a new screen. That one still had a slight color shift, but it was so much better I didn't care. Unfortunately, the power light was completely dead. It had three dead pixels.

The techs thought they could fix the power light without replacing the whole screen, but they were wrong. So I am now on screen number 3. But! This one has zero color shift (as it should be) and no dead pixels! Whoo-hoo for my good fortune!

Anyway, with no dead pixels I can use cool desktops like this.

Ensign would be leader in the most boring desktop. See 5 posts up.

When it has been completed I will start a new thread and then u will like it. It is in the middle of being redone although I haven't touched either powermac for a few days (I use my PBs for most things)

Well, I hate to encroach upon others' territory, but I have to most humbly submit that it is I who has the most boring desktop.

I took the image from the Adobe Stock Art included on the CD with Photoshop 6. It originally had a big dandelion in it, but I got sick of that and made it just sky.

Maybe a touch default, but not boring. I'm partial to clouds, looks nice.

I might tie for most boring— I snagged the earth pic from cosmos and have had it running on X on my s900 for ~yr now.

Definitely something silver to accent spidey…maybe sosumi?

There's a lot to choose from.

Some themes even spped up the system a little.

Just changed mine tonight, took this one hiking over the weekend up at Great Falls. Used my digital camera, no cropping, got to love that!

call me stupid, but where would I find these themes and how would I install them? Also, I've noticed that some docks have white arrows under opened apps. How do I do that? Also, anyone know of the temperatures of the 800mhz g4 in the new tibooks can be measured? AquaMon says it's unsupported..

Since this thread has been dragged up once again, and my X bkgrnd hasn't changed, I'll demo my 9 background.

Long live the classic Apple and all it signifies!

[edit] Ugh that drop shadow looks repulsive. Sorry guys, you get the idea, I guess. [/edit]

Fixed desktops get boring, fast. I used to use DeskPicture in 9, but haven't been as Ambitious in X. i always liked to see what desktops would come up, every time I would reboot. The one's I wanted to come up…never did. *sob*

I just changed mine, I love the Hubble....just by virtue fo it giving me cool stuff to stick on my desktop :D
