Nice 'tar mac15. I think it's your best one yet. How's about keeping this one for a while? I really like it. It seems to fit you well, yet subtly.

Good work. :)

No its not from Civilization!! I made it!!
no ill will, It just reminds me of it, especially the angle at which it is viewed and water...I think it looks great!
hey, is there anyway to have a "gif" or changing image to your background? you could have a pool of lava or a volcano, or make he water move and the boat rock or something in the background...surely that's something that could happen?

agreen... how close up to the ship do we ever get? i'm curious to see how much detail you put into it... it's amazing how much work you save yourself when you plan well enough to know what you don't show, and thus, don't need to model....

Most of the film is on the deck of the ship, so I had to put enough detail into to make it look good. I didnt put as much in as Id have liked to because I paid more attention to the characters. This particular shot is from the very beginning of the film, kind of an establishing shot. (the camera swoops in from out of the clouds--you'll see it, give me another week!)

sounds promising. can't wait to see it... that is, can't WAIT to see it! finish it already!

ha.

how many characters are there? did you do totally separate rigs for all or were you able to reuse some parts?

Three human characters and one parrot. I basically used the same riggin for all of the humans, but modified them to fit their bodies. The parrot was a whole seperate system. Wings are really a b!tch.

I technically have the movie done (look on my desktop, the file that says 'pirate movie final.') However, I have some polygonal intersections that I want to fix, some audio levels that need tweaking, etc.

Also, I would like to re-animate some scenes, but I think I may just have to stick with what I have. Its still a student project, and I have enough for a good demo reel.

Well, run it through quicktime and output a low res, say 360x240 15fps and post it somewhere, don't worry about the polygonal intersections, they happen all the time, and even in some of the bigger productions. I saw several in Jimmy Neutron, Monsters Inc. and Toy Story.

I will, I will--I still have my plate full of wedding plans right now. Im hoping ot have the film completely done one week from tomorrow (Sat)

I also saw some juicy errors on Shrek, but are really hard to see. You have to be looking really fast to catch them. Ive only found 2 so far though
