If Samsung made a “clean” Android phone I’d buy it immediately. As it stands, I’m thinking of going to my local Best Buy to see if they’re carrying Nothing phones yet. I’ve never seen one in person.

Today is the day I go back to pain management for a med assessment. I have a medical marijuana license now (even though it doesn't work) so I'm nervous they'll discharge me. I don't care if they pull me off the opioids because I don't want them anymore anyway. After that it's PT and those ridiculous side plank things that are murder on my back. The last time I went I could barely do them, and they made me do them in front of two cute girls so they could watch me struggle. Totally humiliating.

Speaking of Select CD-ROM and the Netherlands. What's our Dutch florist up to these days? Haven't seen him in ages! He told my mother he had a bicycle accident and that's why he doesn't want to work much anymore.

Our new gas station attendant here in our village comes from Afghanistan. What I find particularly fascinating is that he not only speaks German relatively well, but also Persian and Pashto. He gave me two example sentences, and I think they sound quite beautiful. He also always carries a 1000 Afghani banknote from his homeland with him. I was even allowed to touch it and take a picture. A great honor!

Saw a classmate in the dining hall tonight who I honestly totally forgot about. We had a couple classes together last year and then I just have never seen him - he's a Business major, so we don't frequent the same areas of campus all that much. He's a really nice guy though. Anyway, we got each other's phone numbers so we can be in touch more often - he's doing some interesting projects I want to hear more about.

I'm plan to attend a discussion group this week. The venue they use is very much on my mind. It's a pizza place., that gets used by various groups in my area. I'm wondering how well going to this pizza place will go, since it is less than likely that I'll order anything. I have quit eating dairy, and I limit fat, both of which make eating in a pizza place a problem. I am wondering if not ordering will piss the restaurant off. (I'm asking about this, so I may be canelling these plans, which would piss me off, given how I've gone to the trouble to juggle my week's schedule to make this possible).

Above all, I'm wondering how depressing it'll be to go to a pizza place. and not have pizza. Pizza is the one thing I think I really miss having gone dairy free.

Tough. Do they serve salad? Many pizza places do.

Fourteen years ago I bought my first Big Green Egg, and found the site pizzamaking.com that same summer. I went totally bonkers, making pizzas 4-6 times a week, taking notes, experimenting, for several years and then... burnout. I never wanted to see another pizza again, and never ate one for 5 or 6 years.
When my office would do their weekly lunch, and at a pizza place, I would just order salad and get their pasta dishes if it was a buffet, you can skip the cheese (dairy) if that's your preference. They'll only get pissed at you if you show up with a McDonald's bag and order a coke.

One thought I had fantasized about briefly was bringing some coffee from the coffee shop at that strip mall. But I'm sure the pizza place would be pissed off. Even though from what I see their drink options are seriously limited.

Going to the beach tomorrow for a long stroll by the ocean. It's the only place where my mind stops racing, all my pain is washed away and I feel totally at peace. I feel like I'm destined to be there, even though it seems impossible. I also have this weird recurring dream I'm going to marry a girl named Sarah. Something strange is in the air, and I don't think it's the cheap weed the hillbillies are smoking outside...

Beautiful day at the ocean yesterday. Mostly sunny, high of 82, birds flying all over, beach empty, good parking. I couldn't have asked for a better time. My only wish is I could've stayed longer, but alas, back pain prevailed... again. After that, though, we went to a lovely steakhouse for lunch and I had the most amazing grilled shrimp skewers with rice pilaf and mashed potatoes. Filled me up for the rest of the day! Now that it's a new day, it's back to the old grind with PT!

A nice sunny three day weekend is on my mind. Putting work to the back of my mind for a few days which is always a struggle. I'm sure tomorrow's gardening, exercise, car washing and other 'restful' activities will help!

What else can I say about Great Britain.

Except James Bond and Aston Martin, I think of Spitfire, Sherman Firefly, wine gums, McLaren, Mr. Bean, the language, fish and chips, bagpipes, and something else.
