Nahh, they have to clear it up and find solutions. That’s what we pay them for.
We are used to these twist and turns of the coalitions.

The 'old man', the former primeminster, Stefan Löfven, remain sitting until the negotiations have found a solid solution.

Also Sweden is a constitutional Monarchy since +1000 yrs back, so if the politicians mess it up, the King always are the remaining head of the country and have the last say. Though without political power generally.
So these things regarding political power does't bring that much instability out of that reason either.

Work is on my mind. Last day off was the 8th November. Can’t wait for my 3 day weekend.
Goodness. Hope you enjoy it.

I'm eating a lot and early. It's going to be a miserable day gastrointestinally wise but gosh do I love sweet potatoes, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie!

My husband is working through the holidays. I miss him but I understand he's doing all this for us.

Hope your Thanksgiving went well. One of our homestay moms was kind enough to organize a Thanksgiving dinner with all of our American students (only 9 this semester) which went really well. The students prepared it themselves and give the Swiss family a taste of this nice holiday.

I was away for an urgent matter and maybe will post about it sometime, everything is so overwhelming it is getting too much.

Hang in there. When it rains, it pours. Hopefully things calm soon for you.

I know I need a break myself. I've got two doctors appointments in December. I am beyond desperate to have relief.

Coming back from dropping my wife off at the train station, the radio had on "Blue Danube". I was thinking about the scene in "2001 A Space Odyssey", where the shuttle is docking with the space station, to the tune of "Blue Danube".
(If you haven't watched it, go find it on Youtube and watch it, now).

Up until "2001", film scores had been specially written for the film. Kubrick had commissioned Alex North to do the score, but during production, various classical pieces had been used in the meantime. Kubrick decided to keep those pieces ("Zarathustra", "Blue Danube", etc) but neglected to tell North, who found out at the premiere screening.

I cannot imagine "2001" without the classical music pieces.

BTW, I saw it with my cousin when it first came to Sydney. It was in Cinemascope format (ultra wide, on a very curved screen). We were a little late and the only seats left were down the front, on the left hand side. We saw the film with the screen curving up and away to the right. Not optimal, but after the opening scene, our minds were so blown that we didn't notice...

A very tough day, best of luck with it; try to be kind to yourselves.
On a happier note, today is my first day off since the 8th of November. Had a late start, 8 O’clock. Went to collect a bird bath with Mrs AFB. Had my booster jab.
Also went for a windy walk with Mrs AFB. First time in ages. Still blowing a gale out there. A lazy afternoon planned followed by my monthly take away.

Sounds like a very pleasant day.

What form will the monthly takeaway take?

Fish and chips. That’s our only option here. There is a pizza van on a Thursday, but it’s quite pricey and I don’t eat much bread.

Well, do enjoy your fish and chips. Seriously good fish and chips takes some beating.

It is one thing if the pizza is pricey, but, is it good?

Mediocre pizza is worse than no pizza, in my experience.

These days, I am only prepared to treat myself to pizza if I know that it wil be really good.

It’s okay. But you have to book in advance. Plus it’s a little further away, so not as hot as you’d like when you get it home.

Love great pizza ? ❤️‍?

Especially these days when I can buy really good pizza bottoms and then make them myself to my own total liking.
Honestly, I enjoy my own making more now then bought pizza.
I get more and better stuff in my own preferences on them.
Then my specialty: a mountain of ruccola salad on it.

Makes it even healthy, if I am not overly generous on the cheese. As a vegan otherwise, I do my compromises at times. Buying ordinary cheddar cheese is one of them, to pizza and a when making some baguette’s.
Vegan cheese is a joke. Can’t sacrifice good pizzas for being otherwise a vegan, no way.

Delicious ?

I was fast asleep this morning, when I was suddenly awakened by a short loud BEEP!. I opened my eyes just far enough to see it was still dark outside, just starting to get light. I had a good idea the beep was a low-battery warning from a smoke detector, but I waited under the covers, in that not quite asleep or awake state. After all, I could have dreamt it.

BEEP! Nope, not a dream. It was as short as before, but it seemed a bit more muffled, like it was coming from the hallway or another room. I rolled out from under the covers and sat on the edge of my bed waiting for the next one to sound.

When it came again it was still muffled, and it was also coming from the wrong direction. It was somewhere outside my window, not coming through the doorway at all. I don't know about other people, but I have no smoke detectors outside my window, so I got up and stood in the doorway just to make sure.

Beep! Yup, definitely coming from outside the window. It also seemed to be moving a bit, as it came from a slightly different direction. At that point I realized it must be a bird or some other critter, unless by some strange quirk I'd awakened in a world where smoke alarms are ambulatory.

I went back to bed, and after one more beep, a bit more muffled and even farther away, it either left or shutup. Now I kinda wish I'd opened the blinds to see what kind of bird it was. Or if it really was an ambulatory smoke detector and it had captured a wild 9V battery that nests in a tree outside my window.

We used to have a large tree outside the house, before we got it removed because it was diseased and dropped limbs on the neighbour's children, which annoyed the parents.

In the tree, during the spring months, there was a "Whoop Whoop" bird.* I called it that because every morning, in the three hours before dawn, it would call "Whoop ... Whoop ... Whoop". Constantly. Without cease. For months.

Then one morning it went "Whoop ... Whoop...Whoop..Whoop.WhoopWhoopWhoop", then silence. "Finally," I thought, "it has found a lady friend and got its rocks off".

Silence.

For 20 minutes.

Then "Whoop ... Whoop ... Whoop".

* I later found out it was a kind of Aussie cuckoo.
