Still here. Hoping everyone is okay. About to schedule round two of an interview for a remote position at a law firm that is not library based. I am finishing up my ABA Paralegal certificate program, so I am looking to be employed again stat.

Once employed, I intend to finish my Bachelor's Degree because it's required (I did the Paralegal certificate first to gain employment faster.)

If things were different here at home, I'd opt for hybrid or completely in office work.

Mom is hanging in, it's been super rough, but we're good considering. I am grateful.

Sending everyone a big virtual hug and wishing you well.

Watched that Jubilee party for the Queen and noted that only Andre Bocelli sounded great, if not audible.
The after party was better. Liz was a killer on the karaoke after a few Gin and Tonics!
Glad to hear your doing ok. Good luck with the interview.

With a precautionary pre G&T stomach lining of marmalade sandwiches.

@kazmac: Best of luck with your interview, and with your domestic stuff (and even when caring for your mother, don't forget to be kind to yourself).

Well done on the paralegal certificate qualification, and best of luck with returning to finish your BA.

Always keep one under my hat as I don’t carry a handbag!

With six weeks in, at this job, I’ve convinced HR to change my position to exempt and now, a title change.

What’s on my mind now is, will HR begin to see me as a pest, or someone that likes to influence change…

Julee Cruise, the amazing singer of the Twin Peaks theme among other great songs, and long time David Lynch collaborator has passed away. Very sad news, in my youth I listened to the Twin Peaks OST with her music hundreds of times. Her sweet voice will always stay with me.

Here’s David Lynch’s message, right after he found out about her passing away. He’s obviously hurt by the news.

What's on my mind ? for starters I need to look for a better paying job if im going to achieve what I want in life , Also I so need a nice tan so.... do I lay out in the sun to tidy my wardrobe or just have a chilled weekend :)

Wondering why Saturday's and Sunday's seem to go by so fast. Yes, am often doing things around the house, cleaning, fish tank cleaning, shopping, etcetera. But, still...

Getting old is still better than not getting old.

I dunno.....sometimes I wonder about that! When I was younger I always said that I didn't want to live to "some old age like 70". LOL! I think I was in my 20's at the time I declared that. Well, uh, I seem to have passed that particular landmark more than a few years ago now!

While overall I am in reasonably good health and still reasonably flexible and mobile, probably more so than many of my peers, and at this point am not taking any prescription meds for any reason, I am still faced with dealing with things like the progression of cataracts on both eyes and such. Hearing loss is not new to me, I've dealt with that since childhood due to a congenital condition. However, the combination of hearing loss and subtle but increasing loss of visual acuity is, well, terrifying. Yes, of course there is cataract surgery in my future and I will have to deal with that eventually. It's just the in-between stage which is uncomfortable in a lot of ways.

I remember thinking I didn’t want to get old. But in some ways I’m lighter and fitter than I was when I was in my teens, so I think I’m doing alright. Don’t really have too many health concerns.

What's on my mind is that I'm having an endoscopy on Friday. I have a condition called Barratt's Oesophagus and have to have one every 3 years. Although the procedure takes only a few minutes and I have sedation I still hate it and will be worried and anxious all week....

It is worth it. My wife's father had that which was untreated until it was too late.

Wife's sister has it as well and needs one every 3 years. Wife is still on the 5-year cycle and will be unless something shows up.

Good luck.

If I recall correctly, you are still far from what is considered being beyond middle age and within the "elderly cohort" of the population.... Things seem to start happening after one has passed through the decade of being sixty-ish and moves into the decade of them being in their seventies.....

That said, I know that for the most part I am still much more fortunate than many of my peers and I am grateful for that.
