I was on the fence for many weeks about buying a new Apple Watch. Considered the Ultra, but ultimately picked up an SE '22 for £99 off. Very impressed with it, compared to my old S3. Now what to do with the S3, because Apple only offer to recycle it.

Wow, congrats! First time or multi-time?
First time. I feel too young to be a gramps.
Congratulations! That’s awesome
Thanks. The wee one is due in the summer. Hopefully it will go OK and the NHS will still be around to catch the baby by then.
And congrats; at one remove, I am reliably informed that one can have much of the joy yet little of the responsibility of parenthood.
LOL. I see it as an opportunity for revenge against my eldest. 😈 I am planning on buying the kid messy toys with hundreds of individual parts. And a chanter and drum set*.

*My daughter was utterly terrified by bagpipes (which I love) as a kid...

Group Meditation have started to have a profound effect in my life and Meditation journey.

Edit: all depending on the levels on the other meditators in the group of course 😉

Pet peeve of mine, but when ever I see a Nativity scene that includes the 3 Kings/Magi/Wise Men it chaps my hide. First off, nowhere is it said there were 3 kings; only that there were 3 gifts. People just assume it was 3 guys each bearing one gift. It could easily have been one guy with 3 gifts. Next they--assuming it was more than one guy--weren't there on the first Christmas day. They travelled a great distance and stopped to chat with King Herod. Finally, *IF* they had arrived on that first Christmas day, the star stopped above a house, not a manger. They met Jesus and Mary in a house!
I usually start singing, "We four kings of orient are", and randomly insert another number whenever I can.

The best part about Christmas is it’s 12 months away. Sadly as far as we can get.

In my mind is the sad news a friend passed away aged 61 this week.
Only diagnosed 2 months before he passed. Very sad for his family.
You, dear sir and Mrs. AFB, need a hug! <HUG!>.
Best I can do, living half a world away on the west coast of America.

Thinking about the holidays and getting specific, being a believer: Christmas is about the incarnation of the Son of God, and Easter is about His resurrection. PERIOD. "Spirit of Christmas" is about love, but it's also about sacrifice.

Wish all of the mindless advertising for both of them would just GO AWAY.

If you want other people's mindlessness to go away, it might be a good thing to start with your own narrow mind.
Christianity is just one of the ways of viewing religion and spirituality on our beautiful planet.

Not sure where these figures came from, but I’ve see. Other charts that look different. Especially when it comes to the non religious %.

Oh, and of course it is only one way, and there are lots of others. I am not saying that my way is the only way; this is the way that’s right for me.

What I’m saying is Christmas and Easter are Christian holidays and I wish they’d remain so.

One can call these times of year different things and celebrate them differently. I’ve no problem with that. Cheers.

But “narrow-minded” I’m not; I’m somewhat progressive and not fundamental. I fled from the fundamental way of thinking. I will use your response as a learning tool.

On forums, one should use more words. Don’t want to offend anyone.

The percussionist is apparently out of the hospital now, and is recovering, which I am happy to hear. We've been having another drummer sub in for him on the Saturday gigs, so I hope he recovers soon. I'm glad he's out of the hospital.

My BK Monolith Subwoofer, that I have owned for about 15 years, has developed a fault. There is a constant clicking sound. What's on my mind is can I repair it (something involving new convector? and a soldering iron? (I have changed a light bulb before)) or replace?... One thinks the later rather than the former...

Yesterday, I paid a visit to the French bakery to collect the bread (a rye bread loaf, and a baguette in their "campagne" style) that I had ordered - by phone - the previous day, when I noticed what appeared to be an exceptionally attractive, rather appetising, new style of cake on display.

I queried it, asking about it, and was informed that it contains an almond flavoured centre; I shrugged, but the appearance of that cake teased me and tugged at my mind.

Later, browsing idly online, and wondering about this cake, (and I am not a cake person), I checked the website of the French bakery, and was rewarded when an image of this exquisite offering appeared, complete with a name and title:

I learned (from Mr Google, among others, as the name of the cake prompted further research), that this is a seasonal, traditional, French specialty, a delicacy that goes by the wonderful name of "Galette de Rois", the cake of kings, a treat that is traditionally prepared especially for the Feast of the Epiphany, the kings in question.

A further phone call confirmed that they shall stock it - baked freshly daily - for the entire month of January.

Thus, and therefore, I shall pay a visit to the French bakery over the coming two days. To stock up on a baguette and - yes - very possibly, a "Galette de Rois".

First question, where is the clicking coming from? Is it caused by an electronic component failing, or a bug (literally) crawling across something? Or are you receiving messages from the future, or another universe?

I'd say it's definitely an electrical fault. The clicking seems to be coming from behind a panel where the on/off switch is. There's also volume and fade controls there. I am waiting for a reply to an email I sent to the company.

That doesn't sound good (pardon the pun).
