Funny, my original JB order is supposed to arrive on the 27th. I've already bought a Matte Black and I'm not keeping the JB. I'm much to picky to own a shiny phone that is prone to fingerprints/micro scratches.

Your interpretation of 'Bickering' is me asking you a question? Surely a two side conversation involves discussion, does it not?

Back on topic. You stated Apple Knows customers are able to get barely by these days with lower storage tiers. I asked you how do you know that and you replied with anecdotal superfluous evidence. That was my point. Where is your source for how Apple knows this?

It's not an argument. It's a discussion with a legitmate question.

Call it a deduction based on everything I said above. Sales data from carriers if not Apple directly indicates that 128 GB models are more popular than 32. But this is still off topic because this thread is about why people buy the jet black model, which, as I said, I don't think is related to capacities.

What's special is the design and finish of the metal.

It hides the antenna lines and makes it look like one seamless block of black.

That's what's special about it. All the other colors show the antenna lines clearly, and you can see the color separation from the screen.

Jet black just looks uniform all around. People who appreciate good design will love it.

The extra grippiness is a big plus too
My matte black begs to differ

People will always buy the new color... So people know they have the "new" iPhone.

But matte black is new too. And the different camera shape and antenna lines differentiate and colour 7 from other models, so that reasoning doesn't really fly in this case.

In reality, neither JB nor matte Black is new. We had glossy "jet black" iPhone 3G/3GS and 4/4s. We also had Black and Slate iPhone 5, which many describe as stealthy just like they do regarding the matte Black iPhone.

Both colors are "new" in the sense that we haven't had these colors in a long time. However, JB is most different looking from the rest of the lineup in terms of glossy vs. matte, is Apple's advertised model, and only available in 128 and 256GB.

I remember when the Gold color was high demand, that was only because it was a new color. Though why Jet Black?

Because it's new. Apple hasn't offered a truly black phone for years - not really since the iPhone 3G/3GS. The jet black is the first high gloss black phone that they've ever offered that wasn't plastic.

Each year, the new color is always the most popular.

I can still see the Lines and separation on the matte black. It isn't seamless and it's not even black. More like dark slate of the first iPhone 5

lol I don't know what matte black you're looking at, mine is as black as it can get.

Oh ok. More anecdotal evidence non supported of criteria based off sales numbers. Typical Macrumors discussion.

But the one thing you have correct is regarding the thread topic, which I already elaborated on previously.

Do you have something against the idea that 128 GB is more in demand than 32 GB? I still don't get why this has become a point of discussion.

That's because you completely missed the point two posts ago. But I understand its an issue not answering the questions aleady addressed.

Nothing. It's just how a bunch of rich people like to show off that they bought the newest and greatest iPhone. Its just about flaunting wealth, plain and simple.
This is a stupid statement considering Jet Black costs the same as all the other colors.

People just want what's shiny and new. Last year we had the same thing with the rose gold, but this year the rose gold seems to be the least ordered color now that jet black is here.

It's about people knowing they have the iPhone 7. That's why jet black and black are most popular.

What's even worst is waiting however long it takes (heard it's impossible) to get it and then COVERING it up with a case. LOL

The completely different camera shape and antenna lines make it obvious that it's a 7 regardless of the colour.

Its grippier and I like that it makes the phone look like a single piece of hardware. Of course the matte versions have the advantage of more scratch resistance, but I don´t really care about microscratches on the back over time.
