Just FYI, I thought that anyone 30+ is mature enough not to be posting childish posts, which seems to be the majority of posts in this forum. I made this poll to check what we're dealing here, and if it's worth discussing/arguing when an outrageous claim is stated. I'm actually surprised the poll is dominated by people over 30, from assessing the quality of most posts in this forum I expected teenagers.

Or we're all up drinking coffee and getting ready for work while they're waking up 5 minutes before they need to leave for school and don't check MR until after classes. I personally enjoy a side of MR forums with my morning bold roast and bowl of oatmeal. There are too many variables here.

Also, never underestimate the noise of a vocal minority. Additionally, maybe those that you're referring to simply choose not to participate in this discussion because they don't see their posts as childish. Self-awareness seems to be more and more elusive.

6-13, lol. When I was in that age group I was more concerned with playing than cell phone forums. (Not that any existed, much less the internet as we now know it, but you get what I mean haha). Being 26, it's crazy to see how much has changed. These little kids should be nowhere near things like iPhones. Enjoy childhood.

I bet if you made a poll about the MENTAL age of posters here the results would be drastically different...

Another dinosaur here. The first computer I worked on used punch tape. My first Mac was a IIci.

Eesh... looking at the curve here, I would have expected the opposite based on some of the replies and petty tattle-tale BS I see around here... some people need to grow up.

29+++ here.

While Steve Jobs was using psychedelics and drifting I was feeding stacks of punch cards to a CDC 3150 mainframe.

Wow what an oddly young age range poll. 6-13? SIX? LOL

Can six year olds read and type well enough to be posting?

Well, I take that back. Some of the posts I've read look like it was written by a 6 year old.

29+. So that's how a 21 year old views people 29 and over...and they say 30 is the new 20.

The anonymity of the internet brings out the inner troll in a lot of people.

I'm sure even the worst offenders would be pretty darn mature if you met them in person.

I agree with this. I am sweet and innocent in RL. Forums and online video games though...

No offense but your poll is pretty lopsided, you need more age groups. Also, how many 6yr old children can afford an iPhone?

I've already replied about this in the first page. The quality of the posts in this forum made me think I should focus on younger age groups. I'm very surprised that the 30+ age group dominates the poll. If I've known that I would have segregated it into more choices.

I'm baffled by the poll results, either the older age group do not post and the younger ones aren't voting, or some of the older age group are posting in this forum like 6-12 year olds to troll.

Or, since you're 21 the posts you read are not the ones that the 29+ group are posting in?

Another possibility is that this forum overall attracts old, yet immature people.

I'm much older than 21, that was just a placeholder to motivate people to vote.

Speaking for myself, I came of age on AOL with my trusty 2400 baud modem. Learning from the older members (like AFC Joe from Hawaii) who patiently shared their knowledge. Maybe these new communities are to large or our new fangled modems are just to fast to inspire learning.

Well all the 6-18 yo should be in school right now, not on macrumors. Hopefully.

You're much older than 21 and you have a category for 29+? By much older do you mean 25?

Just wanted to know the age group we have here, I'm 21.

I made it private just incase you don't want to link your age to your username.

EDIT : 29+ should be 30+ , I would appreciate if a mod can modify this.

You forgot an age group there.. Where is " Yoda age" ? #
