Actually maturity might be more of a bell curve...you gain gain gain then you realize it's no fun so you decline decline decline.

I keep mine in a constant decline. It makes me feel like I am actually turning back time. But on a positive note, at least Next year I'll STILL be in the same age group. 29+!!

Baffles me that everyone is raging over 29+ option yet basic comprehension is no where to be found. I won't keep repeating myself and read through this thread for the answer I have mentioned 1 gazillion times.

Actually, it seems to me that the OP may have an issue with the basic vocabulary of numeracy.

What exactly have you mentioned '1 gazillion times'? What exactly does the number '1 gazillion' mean?

Perhaps I am a little too literal, here. However, I do have an issue with the fact that the poll purports to finely calibrate these narrow bands of teens, yet is of the opinion that all of humanity over the age of 29 can be lumped together for statistical and information gathering purposes.

From the responses of quite a number of both literate and numerate posters to this issue, it strikes me that the OP does not realise that the very basis of his poll is basically skewed.

And, as the fact that significant numbers of those who have taken the time and trouble to post a response have made abundantly clear, many have expressed reservations with the way the poll is structured; if that many have reservations, perhaps the OP may want to ask himself why they have such concerns, and actually try to address them other than in a dismissive and petulant tone.

Put another way, the OP has failed to make a case for phrasing his question and his poll the way he did.

However, I have another question for him, two in fact. The first is what sort of information did he hope to find out with such a poll? And the second, given that the poll is so slanted towards encouraging a response from those less burdened by the weight of age, and is finely calibrated to recognise the minute distinctions which undoubtedly exist among these age groups, why is there no possibility for the exceedingly precocious toddler section of the forum membership to post a response? Why are precocious two to six year olds denied their voice and vote? I say let us Give the Under Sixes a Voice and Vote……...

His point was not to actually poll people. His point was to say that people here are immature and they act like 6-29 year olds.

Lololol forever in the old folks group.

Why not then phrase the question along the lines of "What (Mental/Psychological/Emotional) Age Would Someone Think You Are Based On Your Posts?" rather than the question which was actually asked?

That would be a fun twist!

Well thank you ... I almost choked on my delicious afternoon beverage :D

I'm 25.

I think the poll slants to the older crowd because younger people tend to stick with the territory they know. In the old days, that could have been the iPod, now it's the iPhone, iPad, and slightly OS X.

The Special Interests and Community Discussion forums tend to include topics that are of no interest to them. I think some of them feel like they don't add anything to the general discussions too, whether it be for a lack of knowledge, lack or maturity, or just not being able to write a meaningful opinion that adds to the discussion.

Hahahhahahah this is hilarious, old folk getting pissed that the poll doesn't contain their age.

Anyway guys, the poll has these options whether you like it or not, you're as old as you want to believe you are whether you like it or not, and people voted enough to show the result I requested whether you like it or not.

This thread is now pointless, unless you want to ask me again why older age groups are not listed and question why we naturally age in life.

If we were to adopt your own analysis framework, I think we could rather easily figure out which poll category you fall into...

Just FYI, I thought that anyone 30+ is mature enough not to be posting childish posts, which seems to be the majority of posts in this forum. I made this poll to check what we're dealing here, and if it's worth discussing/arguing when an outrageous claim is stated. I'm actually surprised the poll is dominated by people over 30, from assessing the quality of most posts in this forum I expected teenagers.

Funny, I thought maturity and age also taught you important life lessons, like not to stereotype.

I'm 16 and you lumping all teenagers under the 'Stupid/idiotic/trolling' category boils my blood.

At the age of 15 I actually really really enjoy the community discussion and political area of the forum. And I come here to this section of the forum everyday :). But I will admit some of the threads in the political area I have no idea what it's about/ what's going on:eek:

You might want to get your head examined. ;)

You really expect this to swing to the young side, not really much choice for us older folks.

Nobody cares about your age once you pass that big 3-0. :(

We're no longer handsome, hot, smart, witty, engaging, attractive, funny, kind... but ARE wealthy and drink nicer whisky.

...I can live with that. :p

We're predominantly Mac users; of course we have more money and more intelligence than a 12 years old. :D
