I also have old eyes and that is why I picked the Citrus instead of the Indigo. I saw them in store and immediately knew the indigo was not for me. If they would have made the letters either black or a very dark gray instead of the soft gray, it certainly would help. I almost went with silver because of the traditional keyboard, but thought that would be just too boring for this fun device. So, I went citrus. It is hard for me to see keys well but I use dark mode at night so that certainly doesn't help.So using light mode at night might help lighting the screen a bit more. In any event I JUST LOVE this fun device and have ordered a USB plug in light for the keyboard at night. Hope it works out for me. Good luck to you and if you do get one, you are going to love it!
Thanks for the reply and info.

For those with a light color keyboard, can you see the keys in the dark when the screen is on and illuminating the keys? I am thinking about getting a Neo, but don't touch type so kind of concerned about the lack of backlit KB.
If you are on a white page there is sufficient light for those that need to see the keys. If you use dark mode or auto mode your results will vary.

one of the times where being colorblind is a real advantage, what is this color thing of which you speak, you mean I have measure the spectrum of this thing, argh

I have a blush, which is very pretty, but I originally wanted citrus--it's just sold out everywhere.
I wish they would have given more of a nod to the old bright "fruit" color lineup of the late 90s / early 2000s like tangerine, lime, strawberry, grape, etc.
I believe wholeheartedly that bright, fun colors would make the Neo fly off the shelves even more than they are now, especially for it being more of a student, entry-point laptop.
They nailed it with the price and the citrus color but I feel the rest of the colors are a bit too soft compared to that one bright. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Couldn't agree more!

I wish they would bring back those fun colors again!!

Citrus is my favorite. Blush is also nice. Don't think you can go wrong with either.

For me, it is Silver. Not only is a classic that never dies, and the scratches will be less noticeable, but also it has the clearest keyboard, easily visible even with low light.
You can never go wrong with silver. Classic look. But I love the fun colors. I wish they made more. How about a purple, forest green, teal, orange? Etc. I love my citrus Neo and smile every time I go to open it.

I would probably wish for
1. Orange color
2. Black
3. Space grey
4. Lime green

It reminds me of color translucent plastic revolution started by Jobs and Ive, which brought colors and life to otherwise grey and dull world of HP, Dells and IBM. I have a hunch that Neo will spearhead another revolution in computing under Cook.

I have a Blush Neo and my other half has a Citrus Neo. I love my Blush but the Citrus is just dazzling - I love it. I imagine Apple is testing the waters with these colors, and hopefully will introduce new colors for Neo 2 now they know how popular they are. Blush changes with the light - it mostly looks quite lilacy to me at home - which is gorgeous and quite subtle.

The Idigo changes color depending on the ambient light. It looks black in low light. The only complaint I have is I wish they would haves a more contrasting color for the letters on the keyboard.

Yes, I think the Indigo looks very classy, and I agree it would be better if the keys were lighter in color, like on the other Neos.

The keyboard is replaceable. I think the replacement is around $140 from Apple.

I don't know if you're required to replace a keyboard with one of the same color. If mix and match works, I'd like to see a white or citrus keyboard in an indigo case, or indigo keyboard in a citrus case. Blush KB in indigo case would also look nice.
