Jagger and Richards still bring a performance that very few artists can match.

I don't see how anyone can claim that there's ever been a cooler musician than Miles Davis.

Excellent choice, and I agree. Last year, I saw Marcus Miller play live, - a simply stunning evening - and he, too, was the epitome of cool (and gracious with it). Mavis Staples (whom I also had the privilege of seeing live a few years ago) was also effortlessly cool.

For artist I'd have to say Bomb the Music Industry! is the coolest band out right now for the following reasons.

1. They release all of their material free online, despite a huge fanbase that would pay for their music.
2. They restrict their ticket prices to a maximum of ten dollars, and it's always all ages.
3. If you bring your instrument along to a gig you can go up on stage and play along with them, how many bands that have over 3 million scrobbles on last.fm could you say that about?

The coolest solo performer would hands-down, without a second thought be David Bowie because... well, he's David Bowie.

The Cramps never lost their edge--not for a split second. They were so cool that most people haven't heard of them.

I had cramps a few times, can be a bit painful, have to rest and drink some water. Definitely not cool
