why i love mac

Well, i use to call apples, CRAPINTASH! But after I got my first one, a powerbok 13inch i was hooked like it was crack! I LOVE the fact that macs just WORK! unlike most PC's they just work. I have had nothing but problems with windows like crazy. I miss 98! It was the only windows that really worked well to be honest. My mac just worked well and never got slow or locked up!

For me it was the idea of having a Unix laptop that ran MS Office natively. I was sold. It didn't take long to love the stable drivers and integrated (and generally excellent) hardware.

Working in a lab that uses them. My boss is a lifetime Mac user and doesn't know anything about PCs. I really didn't have much of a choice but to learn how to really use one. Once I did, I found I liked Macs and decided to buy one.

Being able to run Windows on it!

... Juust kidding ;)
Used them all my life, so nothing ever drew them to me really. I was just never drawn away...

I worked in the media lab in college, and my boss there became a mentor -- he was a Mac enthusiast.

I'd used Macs since grade school, and was comfortable with them, but skeptical about the stability of the Classic OS, and annoyed with the lack of a command line and the ridiculous need to manually allocate memory limits.

Then I had a few experiences in that lab where OS X (a free 10.0 preview download at that point) proved much more stable than Windows -- for instance, a Mac with 256MB of RAM opening a spreadsheet that was too much for the Win2K box with a whopping 1GB to handle without crashing.

Add in the ability to run Photoshop and Unix utilities on the same machine at the same time, and I was sold. Bought my first Mac right after graduation.

Our elementary schools had MAC's in the school lab. We used to get on the colorful iMacs back in 98 99. Those were awesome.

WHY ARE YOU YELLING?!?!

The iPod touch. I had a sansa sandisk player before and i wanted a player with more functionality and that was the first product i NEVER regretted purchasing. Led me to buy my first macbook.

The Apple II+ was pretty much the only game in town. I had friends with Atari 800s, and they were cool, but they just weren't as cool as the II+.

I think the first time I saw "nerd porn" was the first time I laid eyes on the Apple IIc. I fell in love, and envied everyone I knew with one.

My IIgs was a no brainer. Color? Ultima V in color? BRING IT ON.

I hated the Mac, and every single derivative until the Mac Mini came out when I had my little Apple IIc incident all over again.

What PB 13? The PowerBooks came in 12,15,17 versions. (unless you are talking about the late 90's PB G3 that had one)

These two iconic product designs that have yet to be surpassed IMHO...that and the overall ease of use

I admit this was me. The PowerBook G4 Titanium was the sexiest laptop that ever existed at the time. And the lickable GUI of OS X 10.1 was another draw, too.

Exactly! Some 10yrs later I FINALLY got one; although used still loving it: 10.4.11 for now ;)

Plus although I've procrastinated ~ due to a previously bad cellphone fetish (had to get a new one); I've finally settled on an iPhone 3GS and the quality and speed of this (despite not running apps simultaneously) along with MobileMe service ... sealed the deal.

For others it was the iPod that quickly allowed them to switch, for me it was 3GS and I'll transition within the next month but I'll still need (loathe) to use windows as its a requirement for my job as a Deskside\Helpdesk Analyst.
